Who is brave enough to try this?

One for the couples/ single females. If you normally just wait for people to mail you, will you try this?

Search for males/ couples (whichever you normally meet) and mail them. Then come back and let us know how it went.

Did you find someone you liked? Have you arranged a meet? Did you get no reply,and if so how did it feel?

If you won't try this... why not? I realise some people will say they already get enough mail, but this is just an experiment. Are you afraid of rejection? Why not just try and see what happens?

I used to do just this, but the dynamics of my relationship are such , the OH does it all now.

As a single femme, I would message say 20 profiles I liked the look of, out of which I would get 18 replies, I would them le them down over a period of about two weeks and usually end up with 4-5 meets I wanted.

When I was meeting Id say about 75% of the people I met were people I contacted first.

You often see posts from women saying that they wouldn't contact someone in case they got rejected, but then you see all the posts complaining that they dont get offered exactly what they want. Always seems odd to me.

My _iew is that Id rather look for what I want rather than wait to see what Im offered

I know this is aimed at women and cpl's but I have messaged women and cpls and I totally understand if they say sorry not my type or sorry you are not what we are looking for...but the one thing that really gets to me is when you can see they aint read it and prob just deleted..... I often wonder whether the site would be better if guys weren't allowed to make first contact. There would be no complaints about "fancy a fuck" messages with a million cock pics attached, women and couples would meet who they wanted to rather than wading through loads of unwanted messages, single fems wouldn't get scared off within an hour of signing up and single guys wouldn't be able to moan about their messages going unread or getting deleted without a reply.

I dont like it in that I wouldnt want to see any group restricted like that (there's enough of it in clubs

My intention was partly to get people to see how it feels to be 'on the other side'. A lot of fems/ couples get so much mail they can just sit and sift through it. But I think that can sometimes make people get a bit big headed, and then be rude to people that mail them. Not always...

I have a lot of sympathy for the guys on here. They send mail and rarely get replies. I do the same.... and often get no response. I wouldn't be so dramatic as to say it's 'soul destroying'...! but it can get a bit depressing.

It has only been the last 3 years or so that we have actively searched and made first contact with couples and single men.

I won't be trying it on the basis I never make the first move - it's just a personal preference. If people are interested in me I can happily wait to hear from them. Between all the apparent blocking, no replies etc etc I'd rather not put myself in2 that situation

Gosh I had a look and I forgot how much I hate trawling! It doesn't help that I'm in the middle of 3 or 4 postcode areas, but I just trawled through two and couldn't see anyone that really appealed at first glance, it seems the ones I like most are the ones who have contacted me and I'm talking to already, which is really nice!

If I stumble across a profile I like I will hotlist them for a rainy day, or wink occasionally, but rarely message first.

Two suggestions though - guys, you MUST have an avatar pic if you want to get looked at in searches, and PLEASE people make sure there is a larger version in the gallery, it's so annoying not to be able to enlarge a pic to actually see what's in it!
