It really is a sad reflection of the state of our nations health....

Just had a browse of the 'Women on Line'

First 5 pages, not one below a size 20+!

Is this a Fab thing or a reflection of society?

Not healthy!

Society is becoming bigger due poor diet lifestyle etc. However that don't mean that they should not be on here although the OP is not hinting at that.

People who have genuine medical problems for it have my sympathy.

People who are happy and confident with their size have my respect. Big confident people are such fun to be around.

People who blame it on everyone but themselves can GTFO.

Not everyone is fat because of food though. I put a lot of weight on when pregnant, managed to lose most of it then piled it all back on and then more when I got the depo jag.

I have tried every diet under the sun, I have exercised, cut out food etc but I'm (relatively) happy and if someone doesn't like me because I have lumps and bumps then it is genuinely their problem, not mine. My husband likes me the way I am, and as long as we are both fine with it then it's no other buggers business!!

Seriously, if you don't like bigger people then that's fine, is there any need to go on this forum and state that? If you don't like certain people don't look at there profile, simple.

If there is no one you deem as a perfect size on this site then move on to a different one where all perfect size people hang out and leave the rest of us to enjoy this site.

But if you read the OP they were not slagging off fat people, simply opening a discussion asking if the proportion of larger people on fab is an indicator that as a nation we are becoming fatter and should we be concerned.

I would agree.....it seems that as soon as the word fat is mentioned some people for whatever reason become defensive and we lose sight of the original point which is, yes as a nation we are getting bigger and no one can deny that it isn't healthy, and yes I think fab does reflect that.

I am just having an uncontrollable giggle, I needed that!

Just spent 20 minutes doing my tablets for the week,

type 2 diabeties, heart problems, and a few other problems.

22 tablets to help keep me alive.

when type 2 diabeties was diagnosed the nurse said you will suffer from at least one of these,

Blindness

losing a limb

a stroke

heart failure

I asked if I could chose, she said unfortunately not.

Most of my these conditions could be helped or reduced by losing weight, and more exercise, none in my case are hereditry.

Sad thing is im just thinking what I can eat!

or kidney failure.

I think the fact that obesity is an ever increasing problem in our socoeyy is a valid topoc for discussion. The only problem is when a poster directs the issue towards site members' size which isn't really relevant.

The title says exactly what the thread is about - fat people on fab.

If you are fat (like me) but refuse to use the term you are not only setting yourself up to hear hurtful words but you are in denial (I am using you in general not aimed at any poster).

The OP was commenting on the high preponderance of fat people they viewed in the list of who is online on fab just before they posted. If that doesn't add up to fat people on fabb being an accurate title I don't know what does.

Is it never possible to have a straightforward discussion about size without people assuming it's meant as an insult?

I am a BBW. No I don't eat plates of chips and countless chocolate bars. I have type 1 diabetes. It's been with me since birth and has cost me three pregnancies. It also makes it difficult to control my weight. I do appologise for being a burden on the NHS with my three miscariages and my requirement for daily insulin therapy. That money could have been better spent on a slim person I'm sure.

And, of course, the OP must be perfect in every way ?

I am overweight/fat and I know the reasons why I am. I have no problem admitting them.

Weight is a sensitive issue for some and yes I agree that some take everything personally or as an insult.

But I still feel that had the OP came at this from a different angle then it could have been a good and interesting discussion rather than what it has turned into.

people don't have to do anything anymore

years ago everything was done by hand, if you wanted clean cloths you scrubbed them, people used to sweep the floor. get out the pram and walk to the shops and carry it all back by hand

now days we have machines to do everything for us and most of the population have cars, portion sizes in general are getting bigger, people have more money, take aways on every street corner

its the society we have built and we now live in

"The scales are certainly well and truly tipped over on here. It's not only on this site, just a browse of any supermarket/high street etc. and it is shocking just how many fat people there are now.

its just the world we live in today

Without doubt. We're a society of plenty in and little out. Kind of disgusting really.

Somewhere in North Norfolk

And eating disorders are on the increase. Along with mental health problems, body dysmorphism and self harming. All are a drain on the health service.

I wonder why.

"It would appear that to say the word Fat, is obviously an attack!!

If someone said you were skinny it implies them being bitchy so its a no brainer when you say fat...

You guys must seriouly lose out on a lot of fun."

Perhaps FAB should open a perfect lounge. Where only flawless people fitting the strictest of criteria are permitted. Then the perfect people wouldn't run the terrible risk of bumping into those they deem an unacceptable burden.

What does that have to do with the issue of fat people besides your own insecurities?

I don't have insecurities. I have diabetes and am not ashamed of it.

I just dont understand the need to post this. Yes there are larger ladies and thinner ladies - thats what makes the world go round and there certainly are plenty of admirers on here either way. Sure its not healthy to be really obese but this is a sex site not a gym addicts site - and overweight people know the score - its up to them quite frankly x

What I don't get is ... Why are people so worried about what other people do !!! Just get on with your own life! And let others do as they wish !!!!

PS . I'm fat and only ever been in hospital to have 3 kids and a few stitches once when I got kicked by a horse (some may say if the target had not been so big the horse may have missed though!!) anyway I have friends who are gym bunnies ! Who have been in for all sorts of opps !! Most sports related !!!! That don't make it wrong for them to do as they like with Their lives !!!!! Enjoy your life and let others do the same Hx

O o O oo

I think the OP thread title could have been worded better (but then it wouldn't be so provocative if it was) but the actual question being asked isn't a bad thing as it is relevant to what we hear in the news.

However, even if the thread title and OP was wordered differently there would still be the people who get defensive because they think it is personal to them or the people who come along with the lard and gregs comments because they know it will inflame who turn what could be a debate into a battle.
