Not sure about rock ballad but green days boulevard of broken dreams is 1 of my all time classics in fact im sure it was written for me. Falling that pink floyed wish you was here and comfortably numb are also all time favourite for me |

Only one contender, Still in love with you by Thin Lizzy. Both the live and dangerous version with amazing solos from Brian Robertson and Scott Gorham, and the original album version with Frankie Miller singing with Phil Lynott.

Loads I could think of, but the standout is probably 'With Open Arms' by Journey, singing wise, its one of those 'just close your eyes and BLAST it out' songs, and sounds amazing as a result. |
