That is what I have got this morning - only in film form though.

Romance is a real thing but rarely happens like in the movies, those guy meets girl, guy loses girl, guy pines, overcomes adversity, wins girl back, lives happily ever after usually ends with guy loses girl she moves on, guy settles for someone else, loses girl he settles for drinks and loses his marbles, not the feel good movie everyone wants to see is it lol |

The film Roman Holiday is so romantic that it made me wanted to go to Rome for my honeymoon.
Sadly, the magic in the film does not translate well into real life.
I went there at the wrong time, in 1998 when the city was undergoing major renovations in time for the 2000 celebrations.

Paris did not move me when I went there with my ex-hubby, however, it sparkled and was truly romantic when I went there with my late partner some years later.

My idea of romance is him wafting his farts away from me and getting me a bar of chocolate from the petrol station. And never ever taking a guy shopping, I'd leave him at a nice pub.
Unfortunately most guys seem to want hearts and flowers and all that cack... ughhhh. |

Im getting a bit of romance in my real life right now.....never thought i would but im kinda liking it.
When i say romance i sat and drank 2 bottles if wine whilst he wallpapered my bedroom....cant get better and it looks lovely |

Deep down I am a hopeless romantic, however, I am a realist most of the time.
Last time I threw caution to the wind, it ended badly. Nevermind, lesson learnt not to wear rose-tinted or blacked out glasses in future.

i was thinking this when i got taken to hospital in june when i tripped and fell in the street in books and films the guy in the nhs van that called 999 cos i had chest pains would have brought me flowers and maybe more. oh well back to my dreams eh x |
