I've stumbled across a few profiles of self professed BBW's that insist on writing things like "if your looking for stick insects/skinny/stick thin woman then jog on, do one, etc". To me this seems a little offensive to woman of a slighter frame and to the type of people who's preference they suite. Am I such a bad person because larger ladies aren't my type (I am now donning my tin hat)

I know exactly what you mean. Though it is by know means limited to BBWs. Aggressive profiles are incredibly unappealing, even more so when they attack the reader for potentially having preferences that means they won't be a suitable match.

In fairness as a plus size woman I've never put that as I appeal to a wide range of men that have met slim women as well as larger women...so why put something that would deter them from messaging

So what about all the profiles that state they aren't interested in anyone OVER a certain size?

Profile text is just that - someones profile!!

If they like/don't like are interested/not interested in certain things then they should be able to put what they like on THEIR profile

Everyone is here for their own reasons and looking for what it is they want - how else are they going to make it known if they don't put it in their profile text?

If you see a profile with something that doesn't interest you/puts you off or generally don't agree with, then delete, block on move along - just because the profile is there doesn't mean you have to communicate with them

most of us have our own insecurities, I think a lot of big women put things like, if you don't like big women jog on etc in the hope men will mail them to tell them how gorgeous they are and how they don't like skinny women anyway

Totally get what you mean. I am a bigger girl and I accept that some will like me and some won't...some will also like both me and women much slimmer than me. I have no issues with that, and I'm not going to slate women that are different to me...I just try to focus on the nice messages I get and have as much fun as I can with those that do like fat birds like me!

the amount of men who mail me and when they don't get what they want they reply with things like well your a fat cunt anyway and I can do better than you down the pub it does make you wonder, what the hell did you mail me for them, though im not the type of person to have a ranty profile, I never have even when I had a profile worth reading lol I can understand why some women put things like.... im a big women if you don't like bugger off, I don't think it means they are bitter in real life just sick of the abuse on here

i have had nasty messages when i said no thanks, not just because i am fat though, too hairy, too old. if they dont say it to your face they will say it behind your back anyway.

some of the men who have messaged me i dont like but i am not nasty enough to say so, i try to be nice, even when they arent so nice about me.

Have had similar. A guy I'd said no to a few times must have taken offence and messaged to say he'd meet me...if I lost weight. I declined his kind offer and thought that'd be the last of it, but still get messaged off him almost once a month for a meet. I just delete now but makes me chuckle

but that is the point of a profile, so you can get a feel for someone straight away, that's why i never get why people ask for help with their profile, surely people want to read what they have to say not what everyone tells them will attract people?

I think however it was being suggested that those profiles by BBW's who have derogatory statements about slim people are insecure so you have no need to apologise for saying you are a size 22 on your profile

I don't specify my size at all on my profile but I have full body pics and face pics on show so people can make their own minds up about whether to contact me or not. some people like to make it known on their profiles that they are bbw etc then that is upto them each to their own and if your not looking for bigger ladies then I don't see why it worries you what they put on their profile in the first place

the send reinforcements quote is reference something akin to chinese whispers where a message got changed after being sent from the front line to the head quarters.

My post in a nut shell refers to people (In this instance BBW, but I know it's common place on other profiles) having negative comments about what other people may find attractive/appealing, i.e. Slim/athletic ladies. In my opinion your profile should be about you and what you are looking for not what the reader is looking for, if you aren't their cup of tea then they should move on.

We all have preferences, and shouldn't be made to feel like we are being sexist/sizest/racist etc for stating them.

I do appreciate there are quite a few misogynistic guys out there that can't just read a profile and move in without being "see you next tuesdays".
