It's been 2 years since my ex moved out. 18 months since we split up properly. 12 months since he got with his new gf and 6 months since he moved into her 3 bedroom house (I'm only mentioning the size of the house to demostrate the space issue)
When he moved out he took the main stuff, clothes, his tv, xbox, some furniture etc. but a cupboard in my hallway has been full of the rest of his junk (old motorbike parts, a crappy set of golf clubs, odd bits of clothing, tools etc) since he left.
In that 2 years I have asked him nicely on numerous occasions to please clear out his stuff and if he doesn't want it I'll take it to the dump to get rid. I've probably asked him at least ten times. He always says he will but never has.
2 months ago I told him that my dad was going for his op and as soon as he could drive again which would be a couple of weeks after I was having a good clear out and his stuff would be going. He STILL hasn't bothered moving it so this morning I dumped the lot!!!!
He will probably go bloody mental when he finds out.
Have I been unreasonable??? My new Hoover now has a new home and he looks quite happy in there |

Well, its your house... You have told him... You have given him months to sort it.
I'd have phoned him and said "your stuff is in bin bags outside, when are you coming to get it?"
It's your house... Your rules. He needs to take things more seriously by the sounds of it.

I've done that once and felt guilty so bought it back in!! I'm fed up of being a pushover. I left it a long time because he was just renting a room at his aunts so was short of space but now he has moved into a decent size house he has more space than me. I've asked him at least twice since he moved so I've had enough now x |

You've given him plenty of time, a colleague at work has had a similar issue and gave him a matter of weeks. She's given loads of his stuff (worth £100's) away after he said in front of several witnesses that he didn't want anything that he hadn't already taken. I very nearly got his mountain bike! |

"I wouldn't even had given that many chances
Plus I probably would have eBay'd it and called it rent "
It's not worth anything or I would of done. I even told him if he popped in and sorted through what he wants I'd ditch the rest as he doesn't drive so my dad would take me to the dump but noooooo!! |

Lol!! I gave him time to find somewhere to store it. He's been living somewhere big enough for 6 months now and still hasn't bothered so if he gets pissed off (which he will) it's tough!!! |

My ex took the important stuff like the tv's and sky box's. Just had to wait forever for him to collect his children's stuff!
6 months later though I'm still waiting for him to collect their beds, an electric mixer and their bikes! Hmmmm

It's directly opposite. If you prefer next door there's a built in wardrobe in my room that I could make a bed up in if I shifted done stuff around |

If you're worried about chucking it and you can afford to, hire some storage space for the shortest time allowed - probably a month, stick all his stuff in there, give him the keys and the receipt and it's no longer your problem. If he fails to collect it from there then they'll get rid of it and there will be no legal comeback to you. |

I would have given him 24 hours before binning the lot! I did that with a boyfriend. Told him to get his shit out of my house before the Tuesday as that was bin day. He turned up the Wednesday and was genuinely surprised when I gave him directions to the municipal tip! |

You haven't been unreasonable at all!! You have told him numerous times to get his stuff out! And in that amount if time if he really wanted it, if it was really important he would have done it!!
Good for you |
