...In the spirit of the guitar thread, who do you think can really wail?
Robert Plant, Ian Gillan, Axl Rose and David Coverdale immediately spring to mind. |

Controversial choices, Simmons only takes lead in Kiss occasionally and Ozzy is often shambolic! |

I was thinking Graham Bonnet, suffered a little by being part of Rainbows 'pop rock' phase but he is very gifted. |

"Corey Taylor of slipknot and stonesour a massive voice that can be soft at times
Forgot Corey, great vocalist "
Of course how could I forget and I have seen him live!
Can screamo for Slipknot and be melodic for Stone Sour. Great range.

"I've always felt Andrew Strong (him from the commitments) could have achieved a lot more with that voice of his... "
Remember this is a ROCK singers thread, but yes I agree, I envy guys with those big, gravelly power voices, and the soul and passion in his is undeniable. |

Good call. Someone mentioned Chris Cornell above and similar to Kelly Jones, manly sounding vocals. |

The fact that he is utterly gorgeous too helps
I got to meet him once and no words came out of my mouth when I went to speak. I was so embarrassed but he gave me a kiss on the cheek and I was the happiest littlebird |

"Ooops and Rosetta Tharpe...........cool guitar playing too!!!"
Sister Rosetta Tharp was gospel/blues not rock! Although, its widely considered that she popularised the guitar solo. She was utterly brilliant though... |
