Anyone else ever suffered with it?

I just started going a bit dizzy 3 or 4 weeks ogo, then a couple of weeks ago it got so bad I can hardly even leave the house

Been trying to get a Dr's appointment for 2 weeks now with no luck, if I can't get one on Monday morning, I think it will have to be a trip to the Walk in (or in my case stagger in) center lol.

I hope that's all it is, but it's been close to a month now.

How long does it last?

"How long does it last?"

Only a minute or two most of the time, but it even happens whan I'm laying down and turning over. can happen 70-80 or more times a day at the moment. Feels like I'm permenantly pissed, with a constant hangover headache to go with it lol.

Is it a spinning sensation?

"Is it a spinning sensation?"

It's like a head rush, the same as you get when you stand up too quickly. Wobbly rather than spinning most of the time, though when it's really bad it is spinning as well.

Your GP should see you the same day in a situation like this

I get labyrinthitis which is similar and seasickness tablets can help in an emergency but I think your Dr is crap if you can't get an appointment in that length of time.

if you open your eyes when you lay down does the ceiling sort of tilt on its axis?

There is a walk in center in the same building as my DR's, so might just go there over the weekend instead.

If I turn over while laying on the bed the bed feels like it's tipping and if I do it with my eyes open then the whole room seeems to turn on it's axis

I want to be recovered by the begining of December, as I'm going to Xtasia in West Brom for 3 days lol.

It's already fcuked up my life enough as it is, without me missing out on that lol.

Ive also had labrynthitis and it was awful. The room was spinning and I was sick.

My son recently had vertigo and he used to feel very sick when getting up out of bed or when turning over in bed. He also felt like he was walking on a boat. It isn't nice but he was prescribed medication which did help so try and get the Drs appt or the walk in sounds a good bet

well I'm not a doctor obviously and even if I was I wouldn't diagnose you over the net but IF it is labyrinthitis or similar it will take a while to recover fully but medication will get you to where you can function

If I can face it, I think I'll attempt the stagger in center tomorrow lol.

It would be good to 'function' properly again, especially @ Xtasia

Try cutting down on dairy products as well.

I have Meniere's and have similar sensations. The physio I had gave me lots of exercises that make me dizzy so that my brain and body learn to adjust to the dizziness.

Is the dizziness accompanied by any tinnitus or nausea?

Travel sickness tablets can help in the short term. If it's a viral infection then you might have it for a couple of months.

No tinnitus (yet lol), some nausea but nothing too bad. Almost constand headaches though.

It may sound daft but have you had your eyes tested? A constant headache should be checked but it may be the tension from feeling dizzy causing a headache and that in turn feeds the dizziness.

Get a referral to ENT and also get your eyes checked.

I haven't had my eyes tested for years and I was thinking about that the other day, that can wait till next week though I think, stagger in center is my first port of call for now at least I think.

Get your eyes checked sooner rather than later. Opticians can see things doctors can't and if it is vision related you could be feeling better very quickly.

Go to the doctor as well.

Wish I could get an appointment with my Dr, I might have more luck after I've been to the walk in center. I'll give the opticians a ring tomorrow, see if I can get an appointment for an eye test next week sometime.

Glasgow

I can't but feel that anyone who's been poorly for a month and hasn't been able to get a GP appt for 2 weeks needs a new GP.

Would love to but for me personally there isn't much choice for a new GP and the waiting list is 3 weeks absolute minimum. You can call for an emergency appointment but they are for just that, and I would hate to think I have taken a placement from someone who could be in more need.

That sounds dreadful. I have 3 surgeries with about 10 docs within walking distance.

I can usually get a today appt if I phone by 8.45. If not and its not urgent I can almost always get an appt next day.

There's emergency appts for those who really need them, home visits too and if need be a GP will phone a patient before squeezing in an appt or making a house call.

Well I finally managed to get to see a Nurse clinician today (as there were no doctors appointments again lol).

After examining me, she went and got one of the Docs to have a look at me. So tomorrow morning I'm back for blood tests and I'm waiting for an appointment from the hospital for an MRI scan.

So just a case of wait and see now and enjoy life on the merry go round lol.
