Yes, my father, he died when I was very young, and I don't remember him. So many questions to ask. Plus at least two other people. And as for famous people? Mmmm.... Marilyn Monroe, and find out what really happened. and Dr David Kelly, for the same reason.

Just write the questions down , on a sheet of paper, place under a clock, and you will get the answers as you sleep, between 2am and 4am, our conscious mind rests and our sub conscious mind keeps us ticking over, the answers will be put in your head, just ask one question each night, the answers will be much clearer.

Generally we are asked to believe that there is life after death. This supposition is based on the fact that soul is immortal. So if the soul is immortal and you subscribe to life after death theory then defacto there must be life before life? Immortality is immortal!

Immortal is having no beginning or no end, perpetual and constant; just a thought!

I disagree. Immortal is living forever. That doesn't preclude being born at some point.

If someone were born mortal and somehow became immortal would that mean they then hadn't been born?

I'd live to contact my cousin who I was very close to before my controlling ex came into the picture as he was taken from us too soon. I'd just like to know wherever he is he's ok and say I'm sorry for having a chunk of our lives where we lost contact. We had been back in touch a few years and luckily had a couple of really good family times before he went. I still miss him

A spiritualist told me we pass into the spirit world when we die. We get to chose whether we come back. We're shown the life we will have and we can accept it or stay where we are. If we later reapply to return to the mortal realm we are shown the same life.

She told me I am an old soul. Which implies there are younger souls.

I am unconvinced by what she told me.

However, my views on spirits and reincarnation have changed a bit this year.

My rational, scientific side is still slugging it out with my more open, spiritual side.

In the course of my work I come across many different spiritual views almost all of which have immortality at their core whether it be of the soul or life/energy. I sometimes wonder if that has more to do with the very natural human feeling that this cannot possibly be all there is than with anything based in experience or fact.

That is the core of the discussion..........fact! Its all supposition! The reason I entered the debate is that I work in the entertainment industry and have seen a number of well known mediums and spiritualists (so called) at work. They con people who are in a vulnerable state seeking answers to a death or want to hear something and they get paid for being nearly right some of the time. I expect the post will get examples of how Mr X told me something that he could not have known, save for the fact that these people have spotters in the audience! I am a confirmed atheist and the only issue I would subscribe to is that energy cannot be destroyed perhaps sometimes we get some of that energy when a loved one dies?

I do beleive in guardian angels and I am very sure that a couple of things have happened to me.

My daughters have just recently lost their great nan and although I was only part of the the family for 10 years I was very close to her myself.

She was a very petite and frail lady and when I was lying in bed (last Thursday night) fast asleep, I felt someone lift my hand and hold it, it felt very real and very child like,I brushed my fingers across the hand to find that their were no rings on the fingers. But dont know why I did that. As I was coming out of my sleep I could still feel the hand then it was gone. I went to check on both girls and they were fast asleep. I know there is always an explanation for these things but it felt so real.

My eldest daughter went to the funeral yesterday and on talking to her last night, she said that at the party (her first time bless her) there was an arguement as where nans rings were because she never ever took them off and had asked for these to be removed by the undertaker only, on which they agree'ed, but they were removed before they closed the lid.

Now to me I think nan was trying to tell me something and I do hope that she comes back.

I have also had my dead sister inlaw come through to me via meduim and what she said blew me away. So I think there is something there, if you make it happen yourself in a way that you beleive then so be it if it makes you happy!!

How do you explain a one to one meeting with a spiritualist who knows nothing about you, not even your name, but knows several very specific things which it would be a hell of a coincidence to be able to guess? No prior meeting, no audience to have spotters in.

Scientist me is looking for the trick. The other part of me would like to believe.

Having done several courses through my local spiritualist church to develop my own gift (I by no means claim to be a medium) I know its real, and I know there are genuine others. Its a science in itself yet to be unraveled x

Each and everyone of us is a sentient being and can communicate with the spirit world if they want to, it isn't a gift or anything special.

Like everything in life you will stumble across it unexpectedly, or you can learn.

When children are born, we teach them to talk, when they talk we tell them to be quiet, we teach children to walk, when they learn, we tell them to sit still!

Every child that is born is the same, society needs people to conform, greed is the reason spiritual senses are not encouraged, the need for workers, not thinkers.

Every animal has a well developed spiritual sense, that protects them. Dogs and cats, live with us in our homes, if you watch their behaviour, they are very aware of spiritual presence in a room or home, just watch their ears, and fur, and learn about their behaviour.

So many people don't believe in anything they cant see, or have no knowledge or experience of, and have no interest in opening their mind.

Looking back in history, great thinkers of the day were ridiculed,

The world is flat.

Man can't fly.

are just 2 ideas that , people believed.

If someone is happy with their life and the limitations of their mind, they have found contentment, and will never change, as they don't need to.

I agree

I personally do not believe in a after life, I think, like every other life form on this planet we evolved, we reproduce and we die, there's nothing special about humans, there's not after life for gold fish and there's no after life for us

However, having lost my son at 20 months old I really do understand how some people want to believe in an after life where they will meet up again, and that they seek comfort in believing so, but I also think mediums are just con men who prey on grieving and vulnerable people for profit

All of the above is only my personal opinion

never had a reading because its something I don't believe in but seen it on tele enough times, when

I lived with my ex,and seen how they play with people

maybe im just cynical and need my mind opening to it

these famous mediums that do there tours, charge alot of money, they know what towns there are touring, with the magic of tinternet and buying tickets, they basically know who is going to there shows, do abit of research on so many and

hey presto you have got your show for the night

A theatre is for entertainment, as it will say on all advertising and tickets, what you see on television is also entertainment.

As for people making a lot of money, there maybe at the moment 3 or 4 mediums who make a good living from entertaining people,

How many footballers, entertainers or celebreties also make a good living from entertaining people.

I think tickets to see a medium on stage vary from £5 to £10 for 2 hours of entertainment. Which is about the price of 20 fags or fish and chips.

I am not sure how much a ticket costs to see a football match or pop star costs?

99 out of 100 full time working psychics earn the minimum wage, it is something that will not make people rich.

I suppose that is the same in most jobs, there will always be a showman or show woman, who does make a lot of money.

"so you saying that the ones who do the tours and tele shouldnt be taken seriously??"

If anyone takes anything on television seriously, they have a problem.

Television is used to fill time in peoples lives, to entertain and to stop people thinking about reality.

It is used to control people, and to inform. Never having had a television I am not able to comment on particular shows, although I have seen clips.

A psychic or medium reading is specific to one person or maybe a family, and that wouldn't make for a good tv or theatre show.

In almost every town there will be a spiritualist church, on a Sunday there are usually 2 services, where people come together to celebrate life and the life of loved ones, no longer here.

usually there will be a visiting medium who is paid aprox £35 for 2 hours, this money is raised by bring and buy sales, and a plate is usually passed around for a collection. In many spiritualist churches the comitte will actually subsidise the running of the building and expenses out of their own pockets, and most provide free readings and councilling to anyone who needs or wants it.

Once or twice a week they will have an open circle, again free, and anyone is welcome. ( most would appreciate a donation for the tea and coffee maybe 50p but that isn't compulsory)

I only believe what I can see, feel or hear.

having seen many stage shows, including, Doris Stokes, Doris Collins, Stephen Fry, John Edwards, Sally Morgan

and a few I forget the names of, I am very sceptical. If they could do what they say they can do, they wouldn't need to do cold readings, and fish for information

"alot of these so called mediums are a con, they play with peoples emotions, if you watch some they actually fish for answers off the person, watch the reactions,

but I suppose it gives people comfort and thats what counts"

To be honest even as a total believer I agree... I'm good at reading people but chose to do psychology instead... pretty similar but I have a very uncanny knack of getting it right... but maybe I am just a great people reader..

We are all being controlled by something, usually family and or money.

Most of us need to be controlled!

I have looked into this and have come to the conclusion its by aliens or a very wealthy business man or woman.

We actually buy and more to the point eat food that is slowly killing us, drink water that is pumped full of chemicals, that we pay for!

"if there is a veil why would it only be lifted on one particular day in a man made calendar?"

Any festival that brings like minded people together creates energy.

If you have ever been to a music festival, you will have felt the energy.

Multiply that by many millions of people coming together in thought, and the power is enormous, like most ancient festivals Halloween is just one special day,
