I find when I am on my own (admittedly not very often) I tend tdo something simple.
So what do you do - and the question is to guys and girls |

Putting the 'cum' in Eboracum |
I love cooking. Before my daughter left home she ate at work so I cooked for myself anyway. I am happy to knock together recipes and if the portions are large then I'll freeze some. I have two gem squashes I need to stuff with mince at some point so that's two meals. Then some spiced butternut squash soup will do me for a few work lunches. I also pick up cheap cuts of meat at the supermarket and do a one pot dish on my slow cooker. Very nice for stews in the cooler weather. |

Probably genetics.
My dad's metabolism is pretty jacked too. |

As I live alone, I always cook for one. I do NOT like fast food, always have a good dinner |

"I think I'm more of a re-heater than a cook. And talking of stews and slow cooker food - they are often nicer when they have been reheated, dont you think?"
They never get left long enough to be leftovers - I eat it all. I have a fast metabolism too. I have to cut my finger nails weekly. Again, genetics. My father was very slim. |

"99.9% on my todd so Anything from a stew to a roast if I'm home during the week. If I'm working away its usually a takeaway of some sort." take away someties seems so easy, doesnt it. Thing is I am not fond of many takeaways... and I am sensitive to MSG which is in so many.

It's my only option as I hate eating in pubs alone |

I love it when it is just me, I get to experiment and try out new things. I also make batches of food, at the moment it is soups, preserves, beer and wines. Nothing like coming in from a cold wet day too be met with soup and fresh bread |

"I find cooking for one very difficult - the portions never seem right. "
It's definitely easier to cook for a few people, and if you buy stuff packaged for one it becomes expensive too. If you're not cooking from scratch then you have to either freeze some or have the same thing for a couple of days. |

I tend not to be adventurous when I'm just cooking for myself, omelettes seem to be favorite when I can't be arsed and it actually was beans on toast tonight |

best thing in my kitchen is my slowcooker, being veggie its ideal,
sun, make veg stew for mon, mon add curry for tue, wed add chilli for wed, so 3 different meals and only 10 mins prep, sometimes add pulses/ lentils for variety |

Have to say now I'm on my own I go quick & easy but am now thinking dust off the slow cooker and throw a stew or curry in it while I'm at work. Both taste great the day after cooking
Mmmm dumplings
