As far as I'm aware, people have just followed the advice and guidance issued from the the experts?
I couldn't live much further south and was surprised at the lack of chaos this morning - surprised but immensely pleased.
Let's not bicker over the finer details but be glad that there wasn't more destruction and death  |

The comment may be a bit unwise considering the poor people who have died, but I don't believe the OP was trying to cause offence, I think it was aimed more at how the storm has been portrayed in the media.  |

South heavy snow is about 2 flakes |

we no need saving ........ I blame thatcher !!! letting people draw dole any where in the early 60's it the place to be but now gone down hill so much there a load of rehab centres that the people get shipped down from all over the uk but mainly Manchester leed's Nottingham and Liverpool ... that is a fact ..... any way a little off topic ... nice weather for ducks |

You could do with a high wind to blow all the smog from the desolate bleak frozen northern wasteland that is Teeside... 
Someone fell off a ship I was working on into the Tee, never physically hurt himself but had to go to the hospital in case he swallowed any of the water

I kinda agree with what fox is saying, although he could have worded it better.
1 bit of bad weather darn sarf and it's the end of the world, top news story etc. But 2 foot of snow north of the Watford Gap and nothing. |

Whether your north or south the news media overreacted on this storm,after the 87 storm the public media was after there blood for it being underestimated,now this storm has been and gone people still moaning.so what are the new people meant to do.shandy down here is fine with a drop of tipple init anyway. |

I have a foot in both camps... Live up here in Newcastle and when we have horrendous thunderstorm and flash flooding it was hardly a blip on the news.... But my sister lives in Essex and she couldn't get into work for no trains and her next door neighbours car is now flattened under a tree!
I would make light of other peoples misfortune so quickly after the event |
