I've sat at my window writing a feature for my site, morning, afternoon and evening.
Seen fights, arguments, death threats, people screaming, kids joyriding a motorbike all over the pavement, another guy doing a 360 in a car park because he's angry, another guy losing control of his scooter and crashing into a lamppost and then riding off while a paramedic just sat there and watched from across the street, police sirens blaring all day long and absolutely none of it connected...
What. The fuck. Is wrong. With these people? |

"Liverpool, eh? Is that unusual for your area? "
Lol the randomness and persistence of bullshit is what was unusual. My street used to be leafy green, calmer and friendlier. Now it's a ghetto. |

Glasgow |
I watched thon Kemp guy on the telly a few nights ago with some L'pool scum.
It was back in the time of Jacqui Smith but it looked a dreadful place to stay.
Mind you, I suppose bits of Glasgow are no better |

Tell you a secret about that. I saw that show too and I worked in that same area when I was at the off license.
The area looked rough and it needed demolishing, but the kids with their face masks and claims of violence, it was all a lie.
They just liked to big themselves up on the telly. The real killers were the drug suppliers who had the turf war goin around shooting kids, but that shit stays out of the national news. |

I was laughing at this thread to start with because of the stereotype reputation of Liverpool, but since you posted that I'm not. That's pretty bloody sad. I am however reminded that I'm better of for the moves I've made in life and I do believe to some extent you make your own destiny. My final thoughts if you are disgusted by what you say - get out. |

Hey, you gotta laugh, right? It is sad and it can be scary for folks. But some of the things I see, you just stare in disbelief. |

"I'm sure you're right about the kids but it was the areas i noticed most. There was such desolation."
Kirkdale/Bootle, there are no jobs that way and so many hopeless generations. You'd think they'd pull together and find a solution as a community, but no! |

"I promise I'm not making the piss here but didn't Hestletine pump money into Liverpool?"
Not necessarily peronally but he was the prime mover behind the dock front revitalisation.

Was that when there was nothing to pump it into and it just went straight back into circulation? lol I know you're not taking the piss, its okay. I hate a lot of recent Liverpool history.
Hell I still think Liverpool One was a waste of money! |

I wonder... if they just put the money into employing people to cultivate the city and it's green spaces, would people be a little prouder and commit themselves to improving appearances all over?
It seems like money spent always has to be pumped into something profit making when profitable corporations always end up getting away with daylight robbery.
Then again I'd be going off on a tangent when I dont know as much as I need to. |
