A storm is coming!

Apparently it is going to be the worse since the biggie of 1987. Problem is I wasn't here in '87 so I have no point of reference.
Off to take in the garden furniture, just in case :D

87 was about the worst we've had in recent memory, I was driving through Weybridge when an Oak tree, hundreds of years old, decided to sit on a brand new Jag....ooops! |

I worked in the nursery trade in 87.
got called in late night and as the glasshouses disintegrated around me thought, bloody fish. Cycling to the garden centre was fun though. i must have hit about 45 mph wind assisted.
too 3 weeks to clear up and repair the damage though. |

I don't do thunder and lightening - nearly got struck trying to rescue one one of the Shitlands when I was younger!
Not that anyone cares since he just laughs at me freaking out or sleeps through it all! |

"...omg. a storm is coming. Is it weird of me to be a little bit excited about this?
Be careful what you wish for !"
I have my fleece ready for tomorrow.
...all joking aside, do be safe those that live near the sea or countryside. Or just pop over to London - i'd share my fleeces.

Hmm, happy memories - I used to love when it snowed and I had an excuse to bring all my field liveries in and have them munching away contentedly in knee deep straw when I went to check on them all and top up hay at midnight. Luvverly. |

I was living on the south coast with two young children when that storm hit. We all slept through it. Wandering into their room in the morning, I couldn't figure out why it was so light, until I realised the very old tree outside their window was lying on its side. Cars in the garages were seat deep in water and the community spirit was magnificent. We were without electricity for a week though and the walk we took the next day on the beach was bracing, to say the least. |
