If this was posted about a member on here world war three would break out but because it's a public figure it's ok. Not nice. Abuse is still abuse isn't it, or does it only apply to members? |

Oh that's ok then, wouldn't want anyone to be guilty of double standards or hypocrisy. Maybe someone should email Joan and tell her so she can come on here and have a swipe back.  |

I didn't say he deserved to have things shoved up his arse! I didn't abuse the guy, just said that I thought what he did was wrong, there's a difference. |

A prat. As did his wife, The Sun and even his own father. No big secret there and not really abusive is it. Again, I didn't say he deserved to have his balls dragged back over his forehead so everyone could take the piss out of his beard.
I know how Joan Rivers makes her living but this is about abuse in posts on here - either it's acceptable or it isn't. Just watched some guy slaughtered on the 'Aggression' thread, and he bought it on himself, I have to say, but is abuse tolerated in some respects and not others or is it not tolerated at all. That's all I'm asking. |

But, didn't you also defend a joke that some people found offensive a short while back, saying it's just a joke etc.
Jeez., this place will get boring if we have to be pleasant about everyone, including politicians.  |

What is going on round here???
Those in the public eye are targets of jokes and abuse every single day.
Papers/magazines etc are always waiting to pounce to convince us public of this that or the other.
You hear it all the time when out and about - "posh is too thin, not a good image for young girls" or "britney gone off on one again" or "so and so got caught taking drugs" etc etc etc.
We as the general public ARE allowed an opinion. Ok its not nice to throw abuse as people, i dont like nasty comments thrown at me
But jokes are jokes and its normal human instict to laugh at others - otherwise why are those programs like "candid camera" etc all so popular???? |

your initial post here, is actually a good question, at what point does abuse/piss taking/jokes etc etc become too much. maybe worthy of it's own thread in actual fact. |

Gotta agree with Kitty
Some people are takig themselves too seriously on here at the moment ..
Much too seriously, kinda takes some of the fun out of the forums - they're best ignored really and allowed to rant and rave till their little hearts are content.
If they are ignored, they'll soon get tired |
