Yup micro wave first then in the oven on a high heat to make the skin nice and crispy

you need one of those combination microwaves that have a conventional oven in it, put the spud on half oven, half microwave and its cook a huge spud in about 15 mins but comes out like its oven baked, I love mine

does great pizza's too, in 12 mine

Stick a steel rod through the spuds or wrap in foil. Glaring at the oven door and then looking meaningfully at your empty plate may not help but does make me feel better

You mean like spit roast the spud? What does the tin foil do? The light doesn't work in the oven btw so I cant see a lot have to open and poke.

If you wrap it in foil the skin won't go crispy and that is illegal in my books.

As Tina said metal object speared through the middle helps to transfer heat to the middle quicker.

Have some toast while you wait

I got no bread thats why I am having a bakie with some cheese. Would poking the bread knife in help make it go faster?

Got a skewer?? A metal spike through the middle will make it cook faster.

You could use some clean 6" nails, or in Fab terms, 12" nails if photographed from a flattering angle. Just don't get carried away and put the Sky remote in there, too.

A normal knife would do the trick, ie all metal not one with a handle that will be effected by the heat and potentially spoil your spud.

Stick a metal skewer through it to aid heating up in the middle.

Enters from stage right, takes a bow, throws flowers to the audience and wonders if the jacket spuds came out ok
