not sure of rules of what we can say , im not naming and shaming but everyday we are getting stalked by someone,IT creates a new profile everyday to send an abusive message,then deletes profile and comes back the day after with a new one and it starts all over again, we have told admin about it but havnt heard anything back, its getting very annoying now. |

Use the filters to block all newbies from messaging you. You could even go as far as blocking people without pics or non site supporters for a while, hopefully they'd then get bored and leave you alone. |

I had one for months...he'd send a vile message and as soon as I blocked him he'd set up a new profile, get photo verified and wait for his newbie status to run off before messaging again. I just kept ignoring and blocking til after several reruns of this scenario he gave up.  |

Admin should be able to do something, a non sexual site that has a forum I use, the owner of the site is a regular poster. He is able to look at the IP address of posters, I would imagine that the IP address of all of us are logged at some stage when setting up a profile. Not that it can prevent them doing it from other places but if it is the same IP address all the time it is likely that it is their home Internet connection.
Someone who is more IT savvy may be able to give a more accurate explanation. No one is really anonymous on the Internet.
Delete any mail from 'user no longer on site' before you open it. It's more than likely from some saddo that you've knocked back.
I've been on sites that have a minimum of say 200 words in your profile text before allowing people to register, things like this may seem a pain but it helps to reduce idiots setting up throw away profiles to harrass people. Whilst we all enjoy the benefits of fab being a free site there are disadvantages to it being freely available too. |
