It's a common fear, nothing to be ashamed of really.

Can you cover it with something and slide something under it to catch it or is getting that near just not going to happen?

My mum has a massive problem with spiders - she didn't used to be able to even look at photos of them - so I sympathise.

I have the same irrational fear. It is irritating when you know its not rational but you still feel it. Hope it moves away for you. I had my kids trained at 3 years old to remove them for me. Saddo or what.

Nooo spiders are good, mostly harmless creatures. They eat bugs and flies which spread nasties. They get bad press for no reason, at least in this country where we don't have the really scary ones.

Then let it run right into a jar and chuck it back outside!

The chance it could do anything to harm you is tiny. Really, really tiny.

I love spiders in the house, they keep the flies away, and in the night, go in your mouth to eat the bacteria.

Maybe consider buying yourself a spider catcher.

It won't help now but maybe it would next time.

But far more trouble and much more difficult to change in the case of operational difficulties.

Digging a hole is also a lot of effort.

A spider catcher still wins.

Need to know basis

Good luck...and here's something to cheer you up xx

The incey wincey spider

Climbed up the spout

Down came the rain

And washed the spider out

Out came the sun

And dried up all the rain

And the incey wincey spider

Climbed up again

Well done Did you radio tag it? If you see another how will you know it's the same one. You may kill an innocent arachnid.

Bugger should of painted it with nail varnish or something for later identification.

South of Norwich

Rolled up newspaper or a fly swotter ends the problem.

I was told by my gran that putting a 'conker' on the window sill, Will keep spiders away. Ridiculous but I tried it and so far it seems to work...

I kind of get it. I don't much like them running over me. Last year one of my cats chased a huge one right across my face when I was just dropping off to sleep. That put me off them a bit for a while too! lol

And as I said, my mum is really freaked by them. She has issues with anything with "horrible wiggly legs". She found a caterpillar in the fridge a few days ago and virtually had a cardiac arrest.

I try really hard to ignore them left one for ages as it just stayed in same little area, even tried sort of studying them for a bit, even held a trantula to show my kids they can't hurt you but as soon as the fucker started moving I was panic struck nearly threw it hahahaha luckily the keeper saw my panic and removed it quickly
