North of The Wall - youll need your vest

According to the Met Office today is the first day of Spring.

Nearly time for bikinis and those outdoor activities that some people like....

Yeah right...

It's been one of the coldest, longest Winters I can remember. Thank fook it's nearly over. Our daffs are pushing through and the sun is shining up here in Tyneside. Off to dig out all my shorts n sandals which I'll wear until September!! (I rarely wear long trousers or shoes in the warm months)

According to the boffins at the Met office. this winter has been the warmest on record! (Globally that is).

This is the same set of boffins who predicted the 'BBQ' summer we had last summer.

We've had sun all day here today too, blue skies the lot. I can cope with the nip in the air. The sun just makes everything feel so much better

The daffs in our garden are poking their heads out and the bunch I bought from M&S last week are making the house feel bright and cheery too.

Notting

I had the windows open on Sat while doing the housework.

All the zesty fresh air was lovely.

Mind you when my lunch guests arrived i had to shut the windows and put the fire on.

Southern softies!!!

LOL

It was freezing cold this morning, and a hard frost tonight.

No sign of the daffs yet, as it had been soooooo cold this winter, they are still all asleep!

Officially the first day of Spring is March 21st! It is the Met office who have decided in their infinite wisdom that they will call 1st March the first day of Spring!

This is the same clods who can't even get the forecast right!

Check out Wikipedia and google it! Seems like all of our traditions are going out the window now!
