Read a couple of bad reviews about the Argos ones. Don't know if it's the one you mean. Might be worth googling which ones have best reviews first rather than just looking at the price. |

"Ultimately, you can't beat an iPad!"
I asked Debs to pass me the newspaper the other day, she said not to be so last century and to use her Ipad.
The spider never new what hit it!
Seriously though, no Flash and no proper bluetooth?
We've got an Asus Transformer that is brilliant and are looking to get a smaller tablet. I'm waiting to see how the Tesco Hudl pans out. |

Don't just look at the price of the tablet, look at how it performs.
Does it actually connect to a platform where apps and games that she will want are available?
Can the processor handle high resolution gaming graphics?
Personally I'm an iPad fan, not just because of the products but the fact that software and hardware are built to perform together....
Sounds like us swingers lol |

Have they fixed the screen problems on Kindles or does the screen still go just after the warranty ends? To be told they can't be fixed all you can do is buy a 'refurbed' one.
How the fuck do they refurb them if they can't be fixed? |

I've heard good things about the hudl from people who know what they are talking about, which is a good sign as they are usually the first to slate something!
We've got a Samsung tab2 which I can't fault. |

My tip... Get something that will be still usable in a year's time.
I bought a phone last year, and at the time it was fantastic. Now it's a sluggish piece of shite. It can't even cope with the Facebook app |

I'll wade in here with my two cents.
Got my Mum a nexus 7 3g (direct from Google) for her birthday, and she loves it. Real smart package and being Google, gets the android system updates first. Would highly recommend it, for £250 it was spot on. Does everything pretty easily and multi tasks well. Very easy to 'maintain' and no messing about.
I have an Ainol Spark (Chinese tab). Paid £200 for it on a pre order. When I got it, it was running alpha firmware, and despite having a quad core CPU, decent graphics hardware, and 2 gig of RAM, it was beyond slow and constantly crashing. Updated the firmware couple of weeks later and it was the nuts. More tweaking and I'd be lying if I said it wasn't fast. Great tablet, but I wouldn't buy a Chinese one unless you're happy playing with/changing the firmware on it, and even then check xda/slatedroid for interest/support of it. That said, it pisses all over my mate's iPad in terms of speed, the display also looks a bit better too due to the very high pixel density.
Another mate got a 7" Chinese tab, was supported from the off and it's basically a nexus 7. At the time it cost him £100, probably less now.
IPad is overhyped, overpriced trash. IMO, you'd be mad to buy one. They want far too much money for too little spec.
Other than that, the Tesco hudl looks good, and it'd be a piece of piss to return if it cocks up. The transformer is also a solid tablet.
The best? I'd say the Sony XPERIA Z tablet personally, but that's crazy iPad prices. Sublime piece of tech though.

Love my nexus 7, very rarely turn the PC on since I got it.
When I was looking it was half the price of an iPad mini, faster and with a better display, topped off by it not being apple made it a no brained for me. |

Ipads are for sheep. Over priced rubbish. Get something android based.... Nexus 7 is best in class and priced as a budget tablet. For larger ones either the nexus 10, a Samsung one or Asus would be my choices. All generally have better hardware than iPads, and cheaper. No sense having iPad unless you're a sheep and enjoy being ripped off!
As for setting them up, all the ones I've had are a doddle. |

Set up a gmail/Google account for each one, might be easier to do it on your computer beforehand or you might get pissed off with account set up on the touch screen. Connect to wifi and you're off. |

I have gmail. Use it for my couple account on here. Can I do it from that? x |

It will be easier if each tablet has it's own account, I certainly find it easier to do it that way. Only takes 2 mins to set up a free gmail account, and removes the risk of any of your private email turning up on the gmail app on the tablet. |
