There is a bit of a heated debate going on over in the Ireland forums about a Meet & Greet being organised in Belfast where they have implemented rules about single guys attending, I have cut and pasted the rules below..
"So single guys - here are the rules
1. Dont post your interest in attending anymore, unless you are well verified by the host couples or organisers
2. If you have posted your interest make sure you have given your email address by the 25th October to either Sexy Specs or me.
3. There will be 2 spots available to men with little or no verifications. (We want to help the newbies)
4. The other spots will be given to men that are well verified at other meets with couples and ladies attending the party.
5. There will be a draw made for the men complying with the rules and they will receive an invite.
6. Any men not receiving an invite can go on the reserve list, but must be prepared to make the party at short notice. Please let us know as soon as you can if this is your desire.
Apologies in advance to any of the guys that dont make it this time. Trust me I know how you feel, but if this night works well there will be others and your chance will come

I think party and social rules should be at the organisers discretion, even if they do look a bit strict.
However, any party or social that has low numbers of single men would not be one I would attend. |

I am confused. I thought a meet and greet was to meet new people you have not met before. Why invite mainly guys who the couples attending have already met and verified? What am I missing? |

At least they are trying to help out the unverified.
Fair yes can see why people thinks it's not though but it's down to the organisers at the end of the day.

If I had been involved in organising this social, those sort of rules might have been something I might have considered. I liked the bit about a couple of unverified invites. For my own naff sense of humour, I would have added a few facetious rules too, just to see if the guys followed them, for example, to send a photo with a sponge cake on their head to make sure they had read the rules. |

I can't understand the need to control the ratio of guests so tightly at a social, personally. But as stated before, it's up to the organisers how they run it.
As a single woman most interested in single men, I would be dubious about attending. |

Trust me - sometimes control is needed!
Just look at what happened at the first FFFF night at Xtasia - the sheer numbers of twat single guys that turned up due to it being free and membership not being required made for an uncomfortable evening for many - couples, single females and in fact - a lot of the single guys!
The trouble with 'open' events is that you cannot control who attends. A balance needs to be kept for the enjoyment of all!

Oh don't get me wrong, I totally understand the need to balance the numbers to a degree. Those rules just seem a bit mathematically precise for a social. And also very restrictive, since the idea is for it to be, well, social. Y'know? |

if that is the way they want to run their social they are within their rights to do that....
is it the type of social I would be interested in going to bearing in mind I have been to them all over the country, and northern ireland is on my to do list..... nope....
what it says to me is that they have never been to a proper social... because in all my years of being a social whore and travelling up and down the county going to them... there has never been one where the numbers had to be gerrymandered so that there were more couples than singles..... |
