I think I'm paranoooiiiiiiddddd

How paranoid are you?
I always think something bad is going to happen to ruin my happyness
I got told at work I have to go through some further checks now I'm being taken on permanent so am worried they'll throw something up.
Also got told that they didn't realise they might have to pay the agency if they take me on permanent so panicked they would retract the offer.
If my boss asks to speak to me I always think it's something bad even though I know I'm good at my job.
I need to work on this. |

I tend to think the best in lots of situations but if my boss asked to see me I would think it was something bad even though like you I know I am good at my job.
If I see my daughters mobile number ringing me I automatically think she has a problem even though usually she is only asking if I want anything from town |

I suffer some paranoia but it's mostly related to previous episodes of depression/anxiety. Things like seeing a fire engine heading towards my road when I'm out I worry will be my home, or if I can't get hold of hubby while he's out driving. The worst is that drop of the stomach when you have a moment of happiness, you know when everythings going great, you smile and think I'm truly content right now and at that moment I think oh shit something's going to come along and ruin it!!!

to be honest in normal every day life i'm really positive and confident, I've always achieved every goal I've set myself when it has come to my kids, my home life and my career so I cant honestly say I am not negative about such things as i have never had any bad experiences to cause me to be
however if im walking down the street and I hear someone laugh I automatically assume they are laughing at me so I guess in that way I am paranoid |

If they want to take you on as staff, take it as a complement. Anything else, such as background checks and fees are incidental. ultimately they value you and want to make you a permanent fixture. whatever happens just remember they appreciate your work and want you to stay! |

I don't believe bad things happen because you expect them to, unfortunately for some I think it's because they've had a lot of negative/traumatic experiences.
One way to look at it is that you'll never be disappointed you expect the worst lol.

I think in a way it can, if you expect something to happen the way you act on that feeling can change your actions and in effect make happen what your hoping don't
that makes sense in my head not sure I worded it right tho |

I understand what your saying, agree to an extent, think it depends on what kind of things your paranoid about. For example paranoia in a relationship will affect your behaviour negatively, therefore causing the partner to act in the expected way.
Personally my paranoia is of more extreme events. A phone call at 3am on the landline will be met with dread because I've had several calls in the middle of the night to say a family member was dying/already passed. The paranoia of fire engines is because our house was destroyed years ago by a fire. |

Do what I did, quit from agency with boss's knowledge, then start with company, no pay out to agency then |
