Too many manager sackings going on nowadays, it takes time to sort out a squad. And let's not forget the players are just as much to blame but you don't see them getting sacked for missing a sitter. |

Whoever comes in would not do any better with this team. I think mistake was during transfer window not buying enough. Keep him, see what you do in jan. You may not win league this year but so long as you get in top four (which you will) should be fine |

One thing I have noticed is the refs don't give as many silly decisions to them anymore like they use to. Today's game both teams played really well united didn't play poor.
They did lose the ball a lot but can decide of that's because saints were on it or United were sloppy.
Anyway up the saints champions league here we come . |

I've been a United fan ever since Santa delivered one with a number 9 on the back - but I don't believe in sacking a manager just a few months in to his contract; - it's twisting instead of sticking with your original decision!!
An early sacking or calling for one, just highlights a poor boardroom & glory-hunting fans, respectively! |

Moyes will be a man utd legend, given the chance.
Remembering at one time Ferguson was only one match away from getting the sack,he went on to become the most successful manager in the premiership.
I hope the same patience is shown with moyes.
knee jerk reactions from chairman, and fans,is the blight of the premiership.

Can recently ex fans give their 2p'orth?
I don't especially rate him, but to be fair he has acquired a wankish team, virtually a non existent midfield.
His longterm skills in the transfer market have always seemed to be poor too.

In all seriousness, i wonder why Mourinho didnt want or take the job or whether he was even offered it, the timing was right.
Mind you, is he as good as he was? |

Why would he get the sack? Its his first season in charge and he has stepped into the biggest shoes in the business. He will adjust and come good and the board will give him that chance. Look what happened last time they kept faith in a scotsman |

no, of course not.
Ferie isnt an idiot and i believe the results wouldnt be too far different this year than they have been if he had still been at the club.
the squad is old a creaking with too many past their primes and coming to the end of their illustrious careers.
he saw the situation the team was in when Scholes retired the first time and couldnt face it now that giggs, ferdinand, evra are all nearly there.
he didnt see new blood coming through, of the quality they need.
they let the likes of Pogba and Revel walk away, so i really dont think he had the energy to do the major rebuilding work that would be needed over the next couple of years.
United fans see this and will give him a couple of years, as long as they see progress they will be ok, as long as they stay in the CL, but lets not forget that, in 2 years time, when the team will have changed, RVP and Rooney will probably be coming to the end of their united time too, so its a MASSIVE job Moyes hs walked into, and i mean probably even bigger than he realised |

If anyone thinks he will be allowed 7 seasons without winning the premiership, they must be mad.
It took the signing of Cantona to get Fergie his first title.
How much are they going to have to pay for a player of that caliber these days. |

Fergie didn't have a great team when he started and the players didn't do much the year before either. United last year had a lot of fight in them and that's why they won the title. This year not so much fight in them. Fellani has been poor and its showing that no one wants to join united. De gea and the strikers are carrying the team. Moyes should not have sacked the back room staff all in one go and he should have been fergies number 2 before he took over the job. We needed someone who can attract names and has managed on the big stage. Would I sack moyes now though. I can't possibly say . The club wasn't in a bad state after fergie left either as all they needed was 3 midfielders to compete on the big stage and that will rise in the next few years with rio/vidic heading for the doors and RVP isn't getting any younger. So if they don't act fast I can see them slipping further down the league and we may have another Leeds united on our hands as united are massively in debt and relay on champions league football for funds. |

dude, no offence, but they need 3 midfielders (especially the one that arsenal just signed)
3 defenders
and a striker.
THATS why Fergie left |

I felt with the current defenders they have. They could have bought the midfielders this year, the defenders next year and then look for strikers |

Let the knockers have their fun.
United have won more in the last twenty years than the rest of the mickey mouse clubs put together, and fair play to Alex, knocking city off their perch before retiring, enough said.

I don't think Moyes is the right man...
No-one was ever going to fill Fergie's boots.....That era of management style involves a combination of years of nurture and unique ability…
So I feel Man U should have accepted those days are past and selected a high-profile manager with experience at guiding a big club using the modern approach to success,,,,

Depends. Mourinho is a great manager but I wouldnt want him as I dont like his style of play. I dont like moyes style either and for that reason, I would want someone else in if I was united fan. But if you do keep him, united will still be strong, even if they dont play the best best football. |

they are still grinding out results.
there is still a chance they will be in the champs league next year, even by finishing outside the top 4.
the papers today say he has a decent warchest to spend this window.
that said, who will he get in?
actually think the defence is looking stronger just now, than they have for a while.
rapheal, smalling and evans seem to be stepping up to the mark.
wouldnt waste money on Baile, would rather they spend on someone for this, and the future, like Shaw from the saints.
giggs and jones look alright as defensive midfielders, although apparently cleverly is ripping it up today.
van persie is fucked, imo.
should pull out all the stops to keep rooney and either commit to him being the 1st choice number 10, or play him in front of Kagawa for a run of games..
the rest are replacable and reasonably average |

Jones/carrick/Giggs and maybe flecture if he's back to his normal self. All other midfielders should go. We need some attacking ones (2 or 3 atleast). who are good footballers as our current midfielders are either passed their best or haven't stepped up to the mark. In 2 years I would replace Ferdinand and vidic. Then we will be back to wear we belong. Fighting for all honours. |

Moyes has two years, this one, then in the summer buy the players he wants if we don't win anything in the second year get rid, people say fergie was given time, correct but we hadn't won the league in 26 years, now we win something more or less every year he hasn't got the luxury afforded to SAF. |

Fletcher coming back is a massive plus for utd.
Give moyes a chance.
Sustained success,
sometimes
takes a little patience.
It's so disappointing, although not altogether surprising,to see so many man utd fans putting the boot in,after such a short period of time.
Tut tut tut

I don't get as much satisfaction from seeing man utd loose as I did when ferguson was in charge. He had a skill of turning footballers in to aresholes. Ince, butt, keane, evra, they were all good players but turned into arrogant, dirty b'stards.
I like moyes and I hate to say it but man utd won't be loosing much going forward ! |

January will be the big one for me.
If he can bring in the transfers to bolster the midfield and another defender.
He needs to get rid of the dead wood to ie Young, vidic I feel his knees are fucked now.
Give him a chance, it's not going to be easy to walk in to a club like united and just automatically win everything. |

Moyes inherited an ageing and to an extent an average United squad, given its nearly the same team that Ferguson had that romped away with the league it goes to show what a great manager Ferguson was, |

not saying they will
but Chelsea did by finishing 6th and they werent the best team in the CL either AND they then sacked RDM after he wont the CL.
is that what man u fans want?
to model themselves on a club like chelsea?
having very little morals or scrupels?
clattenberg? still hasnt had an apology from the club for branding him a dirty racist.
they behave dispicably, probably in the same vain as abramovic has done in business.
if thats what man u fans want, then they will get it, at the expense of the 'family' club they like to protray. |
