Hi and thanks for getting in touch. I'm sorry I won't be looking to arrange a meet as we appear to be looking for different things and bile rises into my mouth at the thought of being anywhere near you. Happy hunting x |

A nice way to say no is to add thank you . If there is a reason such as distance or conflict of preference say so but never make it personal, if someone goes against something you say in your profile eg no one liners then just block and delete.
Respect and honesty go a long way and if you don't get it in return that's their problem. |

Thank you polo, this is our current reply.for some reason it seems to cause resentment, and abusive replies, some people are just to touchy.

Why id there a need to be nice? I'd agree that there is no need to be abusive but if someone on here is so sensitive that they can get offended by rejection then that is really neither my problem nor concern. And I'd suggest this is not the best environment for them either as rejection is a common occurence.
We will always reply to a well written meesage even if we aren;t interested but people that send crap messages get ignored |

I find it hard to say no outright, as I hate to upset anyone who's taken the trouble to message me. However, most people who I don't wish to meet are either miles away, too old, or want to meet at 03.00 on their way home from work or something else like that, so I try to let them realise it won't happen. A polite firm nyet may save me a lot of messing. |

We just tend to write something like...
Thanks for your message but we are not interested in taking things further. Best Wishes.
Works for us and we very rarely get any abusive or wny messages back. Most will reply with a thank you for taking the time to get back to me/us.
We will reply to any message where they have made an effort. All one liners just get deleted. |

My standard reply is "thanks for the message and joke. Sorry you're not my type. Happy swinging" never had an abusive message back from that, often get a thanks for replying message which is fine...as those who obviously haven't read my profile (I.e. they didn't include a joke) get deleted and most often blocked, I think that initial numpty filter cuts out those likely to get arsey at a rejection |
