I used to live in a house with no central heating.. I make my kids do the same for much of the time now..
Lots of jumpers, layers and lots of blankets etc on the beds..
I will put the heating on but rarely. |

Bed warming pans in the olden days or a hot water bottle nowadays. What I tend to do is lie on top of my bed for a bit. That way when I get in. Its not that bad and I'll have a hot water bottle, which is weird as I tend to kick it out of bed within the hour of sleeping as I feel really warm |

We still have a open fire we just throw £5 notes on it its cheaper than buying coal. |

we had one when I was a kid, big coal fire that run the central heating and water, dad worked down t pit so hot water and heating for free, gotta love old Maggie eh lol |

Nice one cant beat the sound of dry wood burning and running to catch the flying sparks I just made log burner for the garden but may fit it in doors |

also save's on leccy as you don't need to put the toaster on for tea |

I remember all sitting round the open fire with my dad sat there king of the house with his toasting fork passing round toast and crumpets cooked on the fire, it was grim in Mansfield in the 80s |
