Just found out tonight it seems some twat has reversed into the back of my brand new car and cracked my rear bumper and scratched it while it was parked in the street near where i live. No details have been left on my car so don't know who did it, and not holding my breath that they will own up.
I don't know if it's worth going through my insurance and paying the excess or just taking the hit to repair or replace the rear bumper myself. Anyone have any advice? |

Get quotes for repairs...depending on the crack they may not need to replace the bumper, they might be able to fix it. If they do then it's the painting that'll probably sting you...especially if metallic paint. Use a decent bodyshop though because you want the paint to be the same colour as the rest of the car. If it's brand new and from a local dealership they might look after you a bit on the repair...especially if you'll be having it serviced with them |

Have had this happen. While on a meet. If its going to cost less than a few grand then you will be better off paying yourself otherwise your insurance will go up. It might be worth asking a smart repair company for a quote. It may be less than you think |
