Driving test

My daughters test today fingers crossed .. Got me thinking back to mine I failed first time passed second in what I can only describe as the worst weather ever to hit Glitterville and I was sure I was gonna fail. Snow hit bad and I was a wreck but I did everything correctly and walked away happy and got straight into my new car .. A mini god I loves that car. Pearlised white it was . Long time ago.

So do you remember your driving test ? Any funny stories?

And what was your first car ?

I've never passed mine but 2 of my Daughters have, and they both passed first time

don't drive no more though ,.. stick to cycling ,..with the traffic in our city its actually quicker than driving .. let us know how she gets on .. best wishes !!

Havent been on a bike for years but understanable its easier to cycle . Will do either way its gonna cost me to cheer her up or celebrate hahha

I passed my bike test and car tests first time. did, but I was in the motor trade and it was the first time I was on the road legally

Up till a few years ago always had classic Minis

I passed my bike test and car tests first time. did, but I was in the motor trade and it was the first time I was on the road legally

I passed first time.

Technically I shouldn't have passed because right at the end I made 2 "serious" mistakes, I think you only need 1 "serious" and you'll get failed.

First one was I failed to check "blind spot" before moving off and second one I hit a kerb parking in the test center on return.

Both were in the last 5 minutes. He said I was perfect the whole test other than that and said it was nerves and passed me.

First car: red vw corrado G60 supercharged which I crashed at 20 mph after some dickhead thought it was funny to drag road works equipment into the road on a blind spot at 2am.

Luckily I was only doing 20mph but it was a total write off.

I passed first time.

I passed mine 2nd time, on the first test I scared the examiner, so much so he felt the need to grab hold of his seat, I swear to this day he was praying too. All I did was cut up 2 cars coming off a roundabout onto a dual carriageway...oops

I passed first time, during my test I was so nervous I was just waffling on whilst sat at traffic lights, the instructor started coughing and nodding , took him to say the lights are now green for me to realise ?? fortunately he didn't hold it against me

My X wife was asked a question out of the highway code on her driving test a lot of years ago . He asked " What are the 3 lanes on a motorway for ?" She replied " Slow ..faster.. And even faster ..lol xxx

when i was doing the questions part of my test, he held up a sign and asked what it was. i said 'wild animals'.

he said 'no, its deer crossing'

i said 'well they would be wild if they got run over'

still passed, in a mk4 escort.

first car was a mk3 escort.

thats what i dont like about modern day driving instructors.

they all have nice posh, new cars.

but not too many learners are going to have a brand new fiat 500, for arguments sake.

would be much better to use an older car.

First time passer here,(f) and my emergency stop was for real when a toddler ran into the road. Stood up on the brakes, but kept control. The Instructor looked at me and said, 'Well, you seem to have emergency stops covered'

Ive just said same .. My parallel parking aint that good and some canny park for toffee but hey ho shes booking her next one now

I passed mine the third time, first time my nerves got the better of me, second time the car had new brake pads fitted the day before and I never got used to them.

My first car was a Yamaha DT 125R, (was told I didn't need my own car and could borrow my parents when they allowed it, so I passed my motorbike test as well).

I can actually park very well so not a problem for me, on my test (after my third lesson) I had to cheat reading the number plate as forgotten my glasses

Im learning... Keep doing well then f@cking things up... Going too fast etc. Hard to see in external mirrors when I was out on lesson in torrential rain. But did perfect turn in road and reverse park....

I've been told its all there but need to drill and mirror check..

Booking theory test soon...

went to make my first right hand turn on my driving test, loads of traffic coming the other way, think the examiner lost the will to live, and just blurted out" come on sir we haven't got all day, totally lost all my nerves due to imagining id just failed my driving test, as it was I passed
