I have noticed a lot of threads concerning internet dating and there seems to be crossover between this site and regular dating sites.

Hope many of you are actively using dating sites and how do you square the contradiction between the promiscuity of sites like this and the monogamy of regular dating sites?

who says dating sites promote monogamy?

there are just as many on those using them for meeting different people for what they can get, as there is anywhere else.

for me... it isn't! I have had 2 different mindsets when I have been doing each activity in the past......

its only when you muddle the two from the off is when the complications arise....

Haha, the monogamy of dating sites? You must be kidding!! There are far more fakes and people only looking for 'wank-fodder' on the dating sites, and you have to talk a lot more to them out.

On dating sites I am mostly approached by the under 35's wanting sex, on here I get guys of all ages wanting to take me out too! Go figure!

I have found dating sites worse for judgments and deceit than here. Men I have met on here have told me they have more luck on dating sites and find it easier to get sex there but use this as well, especially if looking for something kinkier than one to one.

I gave up looking for a relationship a long time ago now but when I was my ask and my expectations were different.

I've never used a dating site as a dating site, however I was on a dating (kinda) site for the forums.

I'm dating nillas at the mo, and IF it should get that far then I will of course have to tell them about my other interests (ie women and group fun) but until such time I keep dating as dating and swinging as swinging.

Haha, the monogamy of dating sites? You must be kidding!! There are far more fakes and people only looking for 'wank-fodder' on the dating sites, and you have to talk a lot more to them out.

That is true but there is a pretense that dating sites are principally monogamist and for some it is, that is one of the attractions about this site that there is a certain amount of honesty in the promiscuity on here.

Since I use this like a dating site and a dating site not as a shag and go site (get the offers though), I don't see the contradiction.

Slightly naive assumption dating sites are monogamous: they're not.

I'm single and promiscuous in that I have sex with certain friends as and when. However, in a relationship I'm monogamous.

When I was briefly using online dating site and Fab at the same time, I included a reference to an alternative lifestyle in my profile, and would direct any gent that was interested to my profile on Fab as I did not have anything to hide.

Therefore I was always honest and upfront about being on Fab etc...
