I had a meet last Friday, asked if they could be there at 7pm, they said they'd try.
At 6:30pm I was nearly ready so I texted to see if they were going to be there at 7pm.
Received text back saying 8pm ish.
At 9:20pm I texted and said don't bother.
10pm They texted from outside my house 'I'm here'
I said 'I'm not'
They never texted or contacted me to say they were running late, knowing I initially expected them to turn up at 7pm. I found this to be extremely rude and inconsiderate. They had to travel for an hour so were approximately two hours late before leaving home, if I was running more then 10-15 minutes late I would at least contact the person to inform them I was running late.
How long would you wait for someone to show?? How late would you be before contacted the person to let them know you were running late??
The contact was not from this site and they do not have a profile on this site.

As a norm, I wait for 15min only, unless the gent notifies me in advance.
If he is working prior to the meet, then I can appreciate he may not be able to get away on time, providing he notifies me as soon as he realises he is going to be delayed.
And I don't give second chance.

If someone had gone to the trouble of traveling for an hour I would probably offered them a coffee as they would know the address and i would have pointed out how rude it looked all politely then explained that it had soured things and packed them off home. |

As long as contact/updates are made then a lot longer than if it contact/updates wete not sent.
Shit happens.
Just the other week I was running late for a meet due to a car crash that caused solid grid locked traffic for 5 miles on the M25.
I ended up an hour and a half later than planned...But I kept her regularly updated so all was well and it turned out a great night! |

In that situation you did all you could and kept her informed which is all you can do and it shows some manners and respect, so fair play. No one can expect more than that. If I had been contacted with some form of explanation I would have been more understanding. |
