just seen a news item about houses NOT being rented to persons of Carribean decent.
however noticed that all the letting agents were of east Asian decent.
would this suggest that Asian on African (or brown on black i suppose) racist behaviour is more prevalent than white on black or black on white??? |

The highest percentage of racism is in the middle east in the last survey I read. They asked people would they live next to someone different to them selves and they came out at about 50% no. Sad really is its the person not where they come from that counts. |

Yeah there is no black dudes allowed in kung fu films as well.
Apart from that one with Bruce Lee on the island where there is a fighting competition, but apart from that.
Oh and Romeo Must Die. But that's it.

I was going to suggest you put the question to one of your close friends of Afro Caribbean or African descent.
However, the fact you had to ask the question strongly indicates to me you don't actually have any. Not a criticism, it's not yet compulsory. |

I was going to suggest you put the question to one of your close friends of Afro Caribbean or African descent.

i actually do not have any friends of any ethnicity, but thats because i dont form friendships well, and even worse at keeping them lol.
however, im not small minded enough not to pass the time of day with anyone of any colour, creed, race or religion.
i just dont mix with people in the real world, hence i choose to do a job that involves being on my own for long periods of time. |

That's the problem with homegenising all people of colour. Black on black racism exists, of course it does. It should be challenged as much as any other racism. Perceived superiority coupled with offensive language and behaviour is not acceptable by anyone.

Also possible. Just as back in the 1980s I couldn't sign on with a recruitment agency as I wasn't an English Rose. I was told in no uncertain terms that clients would not want to see me.

Just because *we* see someone as "black" or "indian" doesn't meant *they do. I've known Indians discriminate on which state other Indians come from. Or province. Or city. Don't even think about religion. At Uni I shared with a guy from Nigeria for a year. He would often complain that black British people were "lazy n*****s".

In some ways, there is a germ of truth in the suggestion that racists are actually better than non-racists, since unlike non-racists, who see the world as a multitude of races and cultures, racists just see it as "us and them". So they are that much closer to universal acceptance of mankind.

Radio 5 did an add on interview at around 10:40 this morning where a Black Landlord with 100's of properties in London admitted he was reluctant to let to Afro Carribean tenants because of his experiance of their track record of poor payments.
Interesting listening to Victiria D trying to coax him into admitting his behaviour was racist as opposed to, in his honest help opinion, nothing more than financial common sense.
