Tough question. I was born in 1957, the year many say that rock n roll was born. I've lived through the 60's pop, 70's glam rock, the birth of heavy and prog rock late 60's early 70's, birth of punk rock in late 70's etc, etc, etc.
For me, the best band of all time was Led Zeppelin, but my favourite all time artist is Bruce Springsteen who is still going strong after 50yrs.
So to answer your question I'd say 70's and 80's but then again there's been some amazing music that's been created since then.
I love "Ruby, Ruby, Ruby, Ruby" or whatever it's called and "Sex is on fire" |

The best years for me are the 80's coz that's when I was a teenager - so its a no brainer.
However I am an old soul, and my favourite type of music is Northern Soul x |

All my teenage years were spent in the eighties, so i would have to go with that decade. To be fair if you get past all the main stream new romantic stuff, there were some great songs...... |

Stands a fair chance that anyone that answers will say the decade they grew up/started listening to music!
Slightly ridiculous question really. The 60’s ? Pre-Beatles/Stones was shite. The 70’s ? Equally as much shite as good stuff, ditto the 80’s, 90’s, 00’s and 10's. Actually, scrub that, the 00’s and 10's have been pretty fucking dire, even with the benefit of rose tinted spectacles! |
