George Osborne and Boris Johnson are in China to attract business investment...
Is the British really concerned about human rights in China or does it not matter so long as they bring their money?

Britain is driven by money. Virtually everything that happens in this country has money at the heart of it. Sad but apparently true. |

So much British business & infrastructure is being taken over by foreign firms and Venture Capitalists that we may soon call ourselves British living in a foreign land....
I know we need investment, but Britain seems to be best at selling assets.. |

It's not only China which has human rights issues. A lot more countries we trade with has similar problems. Most of Arab countries can be included in this and yet we will happily sell Arms to them and buy their oil. |

Because british people wont or cant pay the proper price for home produced goods and food, of course cheap imports are going to take over, Britain is no longer a manufacturing country. Those days have long gone, thanks in part to the minimum wage, and in par to peoples refusal to pay the right price for anything, |

Maybe by establishing trade negotiations and links we might be able to persuade them to improve their stance on human rights ...
Drip, drip, drip ...
Or maybe it will be a reverse v effect and all end up negatively for us |

they may have privately as individuals however business is business and money talks and bullshit walks.
they will say they are trying to influence China by collaborations like this however having worked out there from time to time on different projects we are in no position to influence the Chinese no one is only the Chinese people themselves. |

"Gideon has announced a relaxation on visa requirements."
...in 20years time when their sap may have run dry or an alternative business is dicovered, the media will hype how many chinese immigrants live here. Their contribution would have been long forgotten by then... |

When George Osbourne was shown on TV making one of his presentations to drum up investment from China, it looked like he was ready to deep-throat any Chinese businessman who was willing to get his wallet out. |

China has plenty of its own weaponry. It also has the most promising economy in the world right now, which is why our greasy fingered government isn't talking to the US or EU so much as they are trying to lube China's A-Hole. This country's always been about the money, we just never sold our souls for it unconditionally until the 21st Century! |

I think just because we have a different western view - we shouldn't dictate how China runs their country.
To be frank - we all benefit from cheap china imports. It is a sad matter that the uk no longer manufactures like it used to be unfortunately if it is cheaper to do this elsewhere - Germany, China, India etc at fraction of the cost it's a no brainer. It's cheaper to get a container from China to the uk than to drive it from the port in the uk to the depo. |
