Well, as some people find it difficult to spell the entire word correctly I think I'd understand their text speak a lot better. And I don't mean to sound harsh but it frustrates me

Verily, Vanilla Cupcake, I beseech thee to understand it's purposes aright.

This reasoning is of a fashion to bear too stubborn and too strange a hand on this violence that to mine ear and eye doth damage.

Wherefore should I stand in the plague of custom?

Yet fuck it what does it matter....... lol n all dem quaint stuffs..... innit.

I bloody hate text speak in whatever way, shape or form that it is used, I find some of my older friends starting to use it because their kids do, and they think it's the thing to do, personally I find it bloody lazy and if you have predictive text turned on on your phone then why bother with "u lk gr8" and the like..aghhhhhhhh

I hate six sentences without even one full stop but I'd never complain about it.

"Is an emoticon lazy ?"

they are for a reason to express a certain emotion albeit jovial or not, and with regards to my previous post that you are being pissy about yes I could of quite happily threw more grammar and punctuation in to it, but I didn't I mean DID NOT want to. Holy schmoly better read that back and check for errors as it will be picked up by the teacher

Pissy ? That ball is in your court.

I said I'd never complain about it.

Are you being pissy about text speak ?

BTW........ I'm not a teacher nor will your righteous indignation make me feel at fault.

Try to be less rude. It looks silly on an adult.

Predictive text irritates me and I mean my own posts!

Granted I am lazy for not turning it off but my problem is I type so quick and hit send too fast that I forget to proof read my post only to find the most bizarre messages! Some people must think I am a looney! Lmao ( sorry had to add that last bit he he )

I don't think the use of text speak in unofficial formats (like the forum) when expressing humour, is a bad thing. Words are so 2D, flat and dry. Sometimes it is difficult for a reader to understand the context without humour and may take umbrage. The same with the use of emoticons, they are facilitators of text emotion .

Ironically if I get messages here littered with text speak then they act as filters. However, in the forum, when I am trying to understand a block of text (and cannot use paralink ), frustration sets in. FFS wtf was that paragraph meant to say?.

It's impossible for me to do text speak on this phone.

For those who know android apps, I'm using SwiftKey.
