..........are something I know sod all about, I've had the same payg Nokia for the past 8 years - not even a colour screen. I have to get a new one, but really don't want to spend fortunes and don't want an expensive contract for stuff I won't use. I looked at some and they were offering 5000 texts a month. Last month, I sent 12 texts in total! There's an unlocked, sim-free one on ebay for £40 that I'm interested in - if any extremely kind forumite would like to give me some advice on whether or not it would be suitable, I'll pm the link. All I need for it to do is talk, email and a small amount of web-browsing.
Thanks in advance |

Like you my last phone was about 10 years old on PAYG 3, had to change it as battery died.
Bought a Galaxy Ace (PAYG) from 3 cost £115 with a £15 top up, had it some 3 months now and it's great! would recommend it and 3 to anyone. |

I'll happily take a look if you like. It really depends on what you want out of your phone, if you don't use the internet on it at all, you don't really need to spend much.
If you are on PAYG the best deals depend on your phone usage (in no particular order):
1) Ovivo (which uses the Vodafone network). You pay £15 up front for the sim and you get 150 mins, 250 texts and 500MB data every month for free. You literally just pay the inital £15. Tablet reading this can also opt for a £15 sim which is purely data (750mb).
2) Three are regarded as the cheapest for low usage 3p min, 2p text, 1p mb data.
3) Giffgaff who have various deals (goodbags) from £5 a month, again depends on you usage. |
