"What's the best way to find a reasonable, reliable man and van locally?
The ones in the local paper gave silly quotes. There are no ads on local noticeboards.
Any other ideas?"
If you know a driver, its a LOT cheaper to hire a van. |

It's the lifting that's the problem. I only need three things moved but they are big, heavy and awkward. I am no but I'd struggle with one of them but I'm also under a no heavy lifting order by my GP.
Friends are conveniently away or washing their hair! |

Aren't the ones in the paper at the going rate? I would have thought they would have quoted sensibly or someone else will start up in the area and nick all the work.
Maybe expectations need adjusting? |

"Where are you wanting them moved from? x"
A house, down here (N. Hants) to a lock-up garage maybe half a mile away.
One thing is to go from garage to house and two things are to go from house to garage.
PS I am not soliciting commercial services here as I believe it's not allowed, so no offers please. I'm just looking for ideas. I'll look into the ones given so far, thanks. |
