does it work with the old battery?
if it does you need to boot into bios and add the battery
if it does not boot with the old battery its a hardware problem (blue screen on boot is usually badly seated ram) |

I take it this is with the new battery in.
Remove it let and the main lead. Then press down the power button for 20 seconds.
Now but just the main lead in and trun it on. Does it power up okay now?
If so with turning it off but in the new battery. if all is okay let the new battery full charge then shut it down and turn it back on does it still work fine? |

"Just bought new battery for laptop has it wont load windows it gets to load so far then I have a blue screen with writing any help would be much appreciated xxx"
The blue screen should have an error code. Make a note of it and post it, one of us can google it for you and then try to help.
The blue, crash screen isn't a sign that the laptop is fooked, just that something is failing to boot... |

"Does the laptop power up OK from the mains ?
Good point, I forgot you don't need the battery if you just plug the charger in...all I have now is - in left top hand corner"
Your hard drive could be dead or your operating system corrupted. I'm not an expert though. |

Who make the laptop as long as it is not Packard bell this should work.
Try it own and start tapping the F2 key stair away, the laptop should now boot into the Bios.
If it stop and course in the top left hand side give a minuet or two. Does it boot in to the Bios?
If it does not have just sitter there sound like the hard drive is playing up.

Are you trying all of this with the battery removed still?
There are actually some laptops that will not run even with the mains supply plugged in and the battery removed. Sod knows why they make them like that but I've been caught out in the past by this.
Check your ram is seated properly, if you have two sticks you could try one at a time to see if one has gone faulty.
Do you have a windows disk you can try to boot from? that would discount your new battery has fried anything and is more pointing towards your hard drive be it software or hardware.
Do you have a desktop PC at all at home that you could plug your laptop drive into to see if it still works and remove all your private files before having it looked at by someone else? |
