As an un inked guy I do appreciate good creative pieces of body art. However I do feel the current trend of gratuitous tattooing is just too much. Very few people are having anything new or interesting just bigger and bigger ink. I always thought the point of tattoos was to stand out or be different or creative...........whats the point (pun intended). |

I adore tattoos, but your right, some people seem to just get em for the sake of it, especially when abroad, getting random people's names!! Or like you say massive tattoos with really no personal significance |

People get them for different reasons. Some follow the fashion side of it, some have tattoos as meaningful reminders, some like the art and some get off on the pain.
I first started getting them when I was 19, things have moved on a long way since then, hardly anyone was having them done and tattoo studios were few and far between. |

I have 7.
3 of which are large.
All have been designed by myself.
I don't understand people who walk in to a tatt studio and choose something of a wall chart.
Each to their own though. |

"just look at all the tribal work that came out in the mid 90's.
everyone was getting some.
if you want to stand out today, DONT get a tattoo." . I would agree with that |
