Before I get any abuse, I love my mum and know it's tough for those that have lost theirs. This is a light hearted thread.
So after a death in the family, my mother has come to stay. Now living in a shared house, I kinda just agreed she could stay in my house with my ex! Well it is my house.
She has only been here 3 hours and already is testing my patience.
She has playboy handbag, and glasses!
We went out for dinner, where she took her teeth out at the table.
My boy nearly threw up, and built a barricade so he could not see her.
She paid for dinner, and didn't leave a tip!
Anyone else have embarrassing mums?

Very much so, my mother thinks nothing of popping out in her car with a carrier bag over her hair dyed covered head! Although Iam slowly realising I'm morphing into her and doing the same to my child |

not mother but ex-mother in law can be quite challenging at times. Says what she's thinking, very loudly, within earshot of those she has chisen to critisise... |

sometimes you just have to take your teth out at meal times, perfectly normal, sometimes the glass eye does get a bit dry and needs to come out for a while, so far my hook works well, but I do sometimes take my wooden leg off, not embarrassing, just practical, I think your being a tad too concerned.. just go with the flow, wait till she asks you if you have a spare tenna pad |

Somewhere in North Norfolk |
Last year I was looking for a place to rent.
My mum came with me to view a place a local agent had on their books.
The guy doing the viewing looked about 12 and as if he was wearing his dad's suit.
The flat was disgusting; I mean seriously dirty and just rank. I had a cursory look round, thanked the 'agent' but said it wasn't what I was looking for and went to leave.
My mum, who was following me stopped to give the poor lad a serious talking to about the state of the place and how they could try to let a property in that condition. The poor kid didn't know how to react at all and I just cringed.
Now, she had a point but I'm pretty sure the lad hadn't made the decision to take the property on and was unlikely to have been able to do anything about it. He may not even have seen the place prior to that viewing.
Consequently I didn't get any more calls from that agency about available properties. |

"if she paid for dinner why didnt you leave a tip? perhaps she felt service wasnt as good as it could have been. "
It is rude to tip on behalf of someone else when they ate paying. |
