Possessed me. I dropped my lad at nursery this morning and came home to have a bit of peace instead of going to the gym like I normally do.

Sat watching a DVD drinking a brew and suddenly decided it would be a good idea to change his cot into a bed, after much huffing and puffing and swearing at Allen keys and bolts I sorted it. Then it occurred to me that if he got out of bed during the night he could easily knock the clothes rail over with all his stuff on it. So I've just had to rearrange all the clothes and put the rail away. 3 hours later I've sat down!

God knows what's gonna happen tonight! I'm dreading it!!!

I just upgraded my little man into a 'big boy bed' although I cheated slightly, weeks ago, I took the one side off the cot, so if he kept getting up, I could easily spin the cot so the open side was against the wall I also put a door gate on his bedroom door.

He was as good as gold though, so now he is in a big boy bed. Again though when I fetched the new bed, he chose it, and I put it in his room, but moved his cot over, so he the choice of either, his new bed or the old cot. He never got back into the cot, so it's in my shed now, and the mattress is a little sofa for him

Make sure you dont have the string on any blinds in house .. hope you are a light sleeper when he slips off downstairs in night.. perhaps put up a baby gate on his door so he cant get out.

If his bedroom is upstairs make sure you have a gate on the stairs.

No blinds at all. I am in a flat so no need to worry about stairs and his door is really stiff so once it's shut he can't open it, his room is next to mine so I hear when he shouts me I'm a really light sleeper now x

Tonight you'll have no sleep, waiting for the slightest sound (possibly a dull thud as he rolls out of bed), sat watching late night tv (probably repeats of the IT Crowd, Top Gear or whatever shite film is on Five USA), drinking endless cups of tea and feeling the bags forming under your eyes!!

I'd suggest sitting on Fab all night with a bottle of JD myself!

Worrying about him falling out of bed, messing, the list is endless good luck and hope it all works out.

You can consider that a successful transition then
