Do you drive? I am assuming the profile name is about your job, so if thats the case, are the customers happy with what you do?
If yes to both, set up on your own - it gives you great motivation to go out and earn, you could potentially have a customer base ready and waiting, and if you are good, then word of mouth will also work in your favour. Working for a company means they have overheads to service, working for yourself means you could very easily undercut them |

Life is hard but not all the time. You have work, you appear to have your physical health. You're not enjoying life at the moment and that is difficult. Sort out your head and the rest will follow.
Good luck. |

She hasn't. She was offered a job. You weren't. Her accepting the job doesn't mean it will automatically be offered to you or that she should be made to feel bad for accepting this opportunity.
You are angry and upset and I hope you get over that but do treat your colleague fairly.

Sounds bout as good as my last two years my husband had an affair and left me for her just as I fell pregnant with twins! (Who he's never met doesn't wants to meet n I support on my own) Couldn't afford the mortgage on my own as I got made redundant n he had put some secret debt in my name before he took off too so had to sell up to break even n move back with my parents, I too got with a nutter after that who beat me once, he did that n he never saw me again! Then I got diagnosed with breast cancer which thankfully I'm now in remission from so take some comfort in knowing you aren't the only one that's had a shit time of it |

We all do it at some time feeling sorry for ourselves but you have to think positive...You have your health and you have a job and sometimes in life we don't get what we want...Maybe the other person had more experience etc...While we might work with some we don't like you have to main professional. Stay postive ad rememeber there are some worse off then you. |

Look for a new role, if you're not happy with your present job. But, in the meantime, maintain your professional standards and demeanour. You may disagree with her being offered the supervisor job, but it's better to 'pretend' to work harmoniously for her, until you find a new opportunity.
Gotta remember that you need that reference to get your next job, and that you can't risk disciplinary proceedures, which might lead to your dismissal.
Bite your tongue, at work, and continue to vent your feelings with us xxx

she isnt speaking to me which proves to me the sort of person she is as i would never do that to anyone .so going to get a new job if i dont jack it in first as been at home worrying all day about what is going to happen when i go to work will send me back down the black hole i'm trying so hard to keep out of |

Keep an eye on her attitude and behaviour towards you- especially if alone- write things down then complain officially against her IF she is treating you unfairly. Keep strong! |

regardless of age she may have experience for example there is someone that works for me that is alto older with less experience....you really cant be bitter that she got the job.....if you feel that she is treating you unfairly then raise it. until you find another job you have to rise above it... |

She may also have other skills, such as interpersonal skills or leadership skills, that your managers have picked up on. Maybe her work ethic or attitude are better. Maybe she's more reliable.
There are a lot of maybes.
Anyone running a business is going to offer a promotion to the best candidate, not necessarily the person who has been there the longest.
Maybe you should speak to your managers and ask them which skills they feel you need to build on. |

This is very good advise, and if it's promotion your after? The feedback that you recieve from your manager may help you along that path |

Im sorry but you have to accept that she has got the job...stop being bitter about it and if you feel that you are being treated unfairly then raise the concerns. |

We all hit bad spells but it's our attitudes which shorten or prolong them. You're full of negativity and so will attract the same. If you have never learned to meditate then go for it. The key (AND the hardest thing to do) is to blank your mind and calm yourself with breathing exercises. Ensure no interruptions. Sometimes you will be so relaxed you will fall asleep.
If you cannot blank your mind then concentrate on something (I draw a shape in my mind's eye).
With meditation you will begin to lose the shroud of negativity.
If you fail, try another time.

A mate of mine's philosophy on life is :-
'Ya born, ya go to school, ya go to work n then ya die'
Not very enervating I agree but sometimes it can feel like that |
