I'm in the process of buying some at the moment. I've had two very competitive quotes but I don't know where I stand ?

I ripped up my floor from an office block that was about to be demolished, 220 sq ft bargain price of £ 12.50. It was the inch thick parquet flooring blocks.

London

Sea grass for the stairs, slate for the porch, travertine tiles in the bathrooms, bedrooms, study, reception rooms and kitchen oak floors, all resanded sealed and varnished when I renovated the house in 2011.

Nightmare!

Ceramic tiles downstairs and mosaic ones in the bathroom sourced via the firm that renovated my house 7 years ago, carpets on the stairs upward from a local home furnishing supplier that closed its shop some time ago.

Its been a very long time since I got any new flooring, the last stuff that was replaced was the bathroom lino 4 years ago by the insurers after a leak, and I just picked out of a book and voilà.

The floor shop, my house was a mere shell without, apart from having no ceilings.
