i walk out of my door, past my council worker cut lawn, get into my car and drive up the council repaired road, to the government funded post office, and pay over my £100 a month. i then get back into my car and drive through the centre of our little area, with their council funded hanging baskets and council funded shrubberies, past the new builds, and back round to where i live.
yep, cant see where all my money is wasted! |

yep, cant see where all my money is wasted!" you must live in a different area to me then. We have overgrown road sides potholes everywhere. No hanging baskets just loads of litter. And its more than a hundred a month. |

Wait till it starts snowing then the 'my road is blocked with snow, what am I paying my council tax for if they don't clear the snow?' brigade will appear. Of course council tax is reserved simply for making sure every single street in a town is cleared of snow on the 2 or 3 days a year we might get a heavy downfall. |

Can beat that, local council had a vote 4 years ago, their deal was either allow them to charge motorists to travel in and out of manchester at peak times and the cash will be used to build a tram network and ease congestion because they don't have the money to build it otherwise. Or, put up with increased congestion, result a massive no vote, 2 years after the vote the tram system was still started.
Found out that the council final salary pension scheme for ex-employees will need to paid out of the council tax levy from 2014 because there isn't enough money to keep paying the pension bill. So not only am I paying for a lazy load of beurocrats to sit in council offices drinking tea I wil be paying for retired lazy beurocrats to do the same thing sitting in their homes. |

Erm - council tax can't be used to prop up pension funds!
Another bit of urban gossip to feed the locals hatred of all things local government! |
