Can anyone recommend a good/the best web hosting service?

I am looking to have a website hosted (not swinging related), but business related. I wont need online shopping cart, so effectively, the site will be static, although I would need the ability to have photo galleries.

Any advice welcome, particularly if there are any services that offer web design tools as part of the package.

Thanks

I actually have a sideline business and I own a few websites.

I have a custom Managed VPS from LiquidWeb.

Google "LiquidWeb" I can't post links.

Or if it's just simple hosting you want try Hostgator.

Hostnine are also good.

Depends what you want.

In Your Hearts

We use GoDaddy but wouldn't recommend it as email support is poor.

If you are going to use WordPress to create your website then use a hosting service which makes uploading easier.

If you look at Computeractive magazine, they have links into their sister mags and companies which offer Site hosting, domain names and so on.

GoDaddy is a rip off, definitely recommend WordPress.

Vidahost are quite good and quite cheap, approx £25 annually, they will handle domain registration hosting and email support. There a good few other features in the control panel as well,

Thanks for all of the replies so far. A lot of the US based ones seem to appear cheap but then ram the add-ons down your throat.

Some useful tips though, I will have a look at all of the suggested ones, thanks.

Clacton on sea, Essex

Go to "moonfruit" you can have a free site with easy to use templates, we pay £49 a year for 5 sites with selling capabilities etc.

Easily the best choice at the moment...

Hostgator, been with them since 2005/6 with a reseller account as I have multiple domains, and no complain from me.
