There is little doubt that science and the future well being of humans requires that we experiment on live subjects , ie animals

This on many levels is wrong would it not be better to experiment on willing humans or killer humans ?

Putting the 'cum' in Eboracum

We do experiment on willing humans. You can get some good cash testing drugs.

They didn't stop there though.

I doubt if we would have many volunteers queuing to test a new drug entity with unknown side effects and has not been tested on animal subjects first, no matter how big the financial reward!

What happened in Northwick Park with TGN1412 in 2006 still makes me shrudder to this day, and the dose administered to the first lot of human subjects was way below what was found to be safe in animals!

Surely the lesson from this episode was how little animal testing tells us? We are not rats, beagles or quite the same as monkeys.

Not the kind of proposals you'd expect from a taoist.

Wow....animals are as important as humans? Which humans would you test them on? Your Gran? Your Mother? Your brother/ What about yourself?

Animals are very important, we love our beef, lamb, chicken, pork, fish etc, the biggest question is ..... fried, grilled or roasted

I'm sure all the highly qualified clever people involved would think of pre-screening any and all potential subjects beforehand. This science after all :P

.

What alternative would you suggest? How about putting yourself forward as a volunteer?

"Despite what so many think, Humans are above animals circle of life, so no, no, and no again."

I disagree we only think we are because we can speak, write and use tools but the way we treat our planet, our fellow men and the other animals we co-inhabit this world with doesn't make us better.

If people decide to act like animals then perhaps in that case they deserve to be treated like animals seeing we're always so prepared to test on animals?

Ok , so for an effective therapy that is used for treating a debilitating form of Parkinsons 150 monkeys were used , to date over 150 000 sufferers have been helped

So even using animals my opinion would be the means were justifiable can't exactly say moral though just as eating meat is justifiable but not moral

So was posing the question , would it be less immoral to experiment on a child rapist than an innocent monkey , would it differ if they volunteered ?

If you were suffering from an incurable condition , perhaps with weeks , months to live , would you , if the opportunity was legal , submit your last days to surgical procedures that most likely would kill you but would indeed help future sufferers

Oh two things , I eat meat

I think humans and animals have an equal right to life

That equal right may be no right at all

Us wanting to have more right to life does not philosophicaly equate to us having such right only the facility
