wifes mother has had to give up her bungalow and come to live with us for age related reasons, we have many many questions we cannot find the answer to but dont want to ask the authorities in case they reduce her pension/disability payments, one main question, other than the post office where her pension is paid from, do we have to inform the DWP or anyone re her change of address??
thanks for any helpful advice in advance |

You do have to inform the DWP of all change of circumstances.
It may not change any benefits, but is it worth the risk of breaking law by not telling them..

tell dwp her new addy and circumstances.also disability ppl,as yes,she may have her allowences dropped a bit.better to be upfront with all offices concerned, cos u bet ur bottom dollar someone will tell and then she will have to pay all overpayments back. |

Help the aged are brilliant, and you will get all the info you need from citizens advice bureau too. Good luck with it all, it can be stressful sorting all this out |

Any financial support pertaining to her home will be affected.
Off the top of my head that'll include and help with her rent and/ or council tax. Things like winter fuel allowance and free tv licence (depending on her age) might be affected too. |

"Inform the DWP of the change of address and curcumstances, you maybe entitled to a carers allowance now she is affectively in your care"
yep... all that done now thanks, not sure on carers allowance yet as we understand if we get it (£59 a week) then she loses £87 a week from her pension(s) so still plenty to check out .... oh, and by the way .... lovely arse donna
