I'm glad to say our house doesn't get them much at all anymore. I hope I'm blacklisted for all the venom I've spat out over the last few years. Was a pleasure! |

I was thinking like the gas ones who knock on your door or the sky guy who keeps calling trying to get me to sign to sky when I am going out late night would be a better time to get people in right? |

most cold calling call centers get the highest response rate when the set up calls between 4.30 and 8pm
catches the parents just back from school runs and covers the soaps. |

I think they spend all day ringing random numbers at random times and when they get an answer. They know someone will be in the house at that time of day and will continue to ring the house around that time then. |

I don't mind the ones that ring, ask if you mind answering questions on whatever, do what they said then go. I had one ring last week late evening sk if she could ask me 4 questions, by the seventh I was getting annoyed so just asked why she'd told me a blatent lie at the beginning and hung up!
I don't actually have my landline plugged in now unless I want to use it to make a call, I've only got it for the internet or I'd have it cut off altogether.
As for people knocking my door fortunately I have a doorbell that can be put on silent, which it is most of the time. Anyone that knows me knows to text or call my mobile to let me know in advance. I hate people just turning up on my doorstep! |

I have never had anyone unexpected knock on my door, they would have to get past 5 geese, 2 german shepherds and "the bitch" a very naughty king Charles, called Lady Penelope. |
