I don't understand it either. I read somebody else saying they considered them as women and I guess that is how some like to be considered.

Personally not for me, but I think the whole sexuality thing is complex and with no fixed rules.

I am gutted when I discover a sexy woman isn't a woman though

Totally agree! Although sometimes on here you'd think there were absolute rules although there's one set for each person

The label 'TV' covers a wide spread of girlys.

A chap may be happy to meet a well turned out attractive girly, but may pass on meeting someone who is 22 stone miner who has a huge beard and likes to wear frillies.

I think some put it as they only occasionally put it and don't want guys coming on to them all the time. The reality is we try to compartmentalise people far too often.

They're usually bi-furious. This is the clinical name for someone who thinks they aren't Bisexualist but are but has yet to admit to it but thinks that seeing a "woman" person doesn't 'count'. So they're still 'straight'. And it doesn't count as an endorsement on their heterosexual history!

I can see the confusion here but to me it seems pretty straightforward.

Being straight or gay isn't, in my _iew, much to do with liking a cock to play with.

Straight men are attracted to women and some are also attracted to people who look and present like women. However, if a man doesn't fancy other men who look like men then he isn't, to me, gay or bi. Enjoying anal is down to how it feels and I don't really see much difference between enjoying a strap-on or a cock.

To me, for a man to be gay or bi he has to be sexually attracted to men who look like men.

Do you find women attractive sexually?

Do you find men attractive sexually?

Those to me are the crux of whether someone is gay/bi/straight.

I've also heard the term playfully bi, which means able to enjoy play (to whatever extent) with both of a couple but is not sexually attracted to the man (or woman in the opposite scenario) and wouldn't play with just a man (or woman).

I'm not too fussed about exact labels. Do what you want to do as long as it's consensual and harms nobody.

More confusion to be added...

Gay girl goes up to a gorgeous woman at the bar, they get on, make out, love each others boobs and soft curves, but the next morning she finds out the gorgeous girl at the bar is a pre-op TS.

Does that make her straight?

I'm a tad confused on why it matters?

I'm straight, don't find men or TVs turn me on at all so have no urge in that direction, but for some it seems to be very important that if I had met a TV then they would want to play with us.

A few people women and couples say on profiles and at least one further up say they won't meet men who've been with or have verifications from TVs. This is lost on me, why?

They aren't straight. If they are going to meet a man dressed as a woman for sex then they can't be straight. It doesn't matter how you dress it up they are bi.

When we did meet single men We wouldn't meet a "straight" bloke that meets tv's or bi men as mr is straight.

Because they don't like the thought of man on man. It just puts them off so they don't want to meet a guy that's been with a guy.

If they didn't know they'd be happily oblivious. But if they do know and they don't like the thought then they won't meet him.

Enjoying anal is down to how it feels and I don't really see much difference between enjoying a strap-on or a cock.

To me, for a man to be gay or bi he has to be sexually attracted to men who look like men.

Sounds like a whole load of who shot John to me. If someone really thinks a woman using a strap on makes the man bi then it's official: I've heard it all now!

Some of the men themselves worry that's what people think.

I've been asked for that type of play a fair bit before and a big proportion, certainly more than half say something along the lines of "I'm not gay but..."

I'm a Domme that only meets straight men: never had one defend his sexuality yet."

Perhaps there's a difference between men who want to submit and men who just want anal play without any D/s.

I've played with subs. I'm trying to think whether any of them have mentioned it or if it's more the guys who don't identify as sub. I'm not sure but I'm curious about it now.

In my experience, straight men I've played with outside of D/s haven't allowed me anywhere near their arses: sub men hand over their bodies for me to use as I wish. Anal play is expected!

"I'm a tad confused on why it matters?

I'm straight, don't find men or TVs turn me on at all so have no urge in that direction, but for some it seems to be very important that if I had met a TV then they would want to play with us.

A few people women and couples say on profiles and at least one further up say they won't meet men who've been with or have verifications from TVs. This is lost on me, why?

Because they don't like the thought of man on man. It just puts them off so they don't want to meet a guy that's been with a guy.

If they didn't know they'd be happily oblivious. But if they do know and they don't like the thought then they won't meet him."

It's an odd one that. If we start deciding on who we should have sex with based on who they've had sex with nobody would get laid

Now that's weird because I'm asked about strap-on and anal play regularly by straight guys who either don't know anything about D/s or aren't interested in subbing, (and if they think I am subbing they can forget about it!!!)

It's particularly strange, to me, that men seem to have this holy grail thing about women who'll allow anal but in my actual experience, behind closed doors they are far more interested in me giving than taking.

Maybe Sydney University would sponsor a psychology research fund.

"I have seen a few male profiles where they say they are a straight male but will meet TV, how does that work then? Lol"

Guys can't make their mind up if they want a relationship or not never mind if they want to play with a tv or not. The ones I have chatted to have said they see a tv as feminine so go figure but I can see how its not totally black or white on this subject.

Some TV's are very convincing but others are simply just bad cross dressing wannabes

It's not surprising some guys find them attractive.

To be honest some are better turned out than a lot of women.

Central

We all meet people according to our own preferences, that's a given. How we label and refer to others demands some respect, as we've seen from history and the terrible insults and injustices and injuries that have resulted.

In many cultures, gender hasn't simply been thought of as solely two genders, and this does make some sense. Someone's gender is what they perceive it to be. At a minute level, genetic, chromosome and other influences affect gender, and ultimately it should be solely the individual person themselves that decides their own gender.

Most people think, for example, that it's either XX or XY chromosome sets that determine gender but even this isn't correct, as there are more combinations that occur than just these. At a genetic level, I don't believe that we really know all there is to be understood about gender either, and when it comes to human minds, we're only just scratching the surface.

So, you may encounter someone who has differing genetic, chromosome or other makeup to you. In western culture, it seems that we're determined to want things to be either a or b, and not to be particularly comfortable with other options. This despite the fact that most of those same individuals want to be able to choose their own destinies, and to be proclaim their own uniqueness and differences from others.

Transgender people are protected by law, and it is illegal to harrass us. Think carefully about what you may say or do with regards to a person like myself. (I don't take offence, of course, if someone chooses not to have sex with me - I only have sex with people where there is mutual interest). But I do take offence where people try to intimidate, harrass or offend me. I have thick skin, though I'm also human and have my own sensitivities, and my gender is something that I cherish and I do not expect to be bullied, put down or referred to in a disrespectful manner etc.

So, coming back to gender. If someone plays with someone else's breasts at a swinging club, kisses an apparently female person but only does such soft swing play - does it make them bi, bicurious or even gay, if - for some reason - that person also has some aspects of a less feminine form, even though they didn't get to enjoy the benefits of it? It would seem somewhat silly to conceive of things this way. It's such a person's right to be in a club, or anywhere else, and consent to play, isn't it? Should such a person be expected to detail any genetic information that they may be aware of, their status regarding passport, birth certificate gender etc?

Being born a somewhat self-perceived tomboy female, assuming that masculine gender for a while, and then reassuming the primary gender as female, which I conclude makes for a transgender person, what the hell would someone expect to be told, if they're looking for casual no strings sex? Very few swingers, or casual shaggers outside of the swinging world, want detailed personal histories before or during some sex from anyone, where there's no thought of an ongoing emotional involvement. You've kind of got to take things at face value. You play with my breasts, I only am interested in you finding me attractive, and how attractive I find you, and what sexual pleasures we can have.

I use Fab as a component of my social and sexual life. I'm not just here for sex and I don't just befriend people who want to shag me. My experience has been that there are some great people in the swinging world, and I really enjoy my time at clubs, and haven't felt _iewed in a somewhat 'less than' way, compared to others. I find it great when Fab works this way too.

It helps when we remember that not everyone fits into just one or two simple pieces of a mold, as much as we might try to cram them into it. People who've got a profile that includes trans people, I don't assume that they're looking for cock, pussy or anything specifically sexually, even if they have a long list of sexual interests also listed: these won't relate to every sexual partner, nor for every meet that they have - some won't be fully sexual.
