If you have a cough, rub some vicks on the soles of your feet, pop on a pair of socks and head to bed. No coughing during the night.
Done this for my son last year, he had a really bad hacking cough. After each night of doing it, his cough was much better and after 3 nights was completely gone. |

"If you have diarrhoea, eat a pack of cornflour, it thickens it up"
Nice one. My grandmother passed on the knowledge that grated apple (with a pinch of cinnamon for flavour) helps cure diarrhoea. It does work. Never found out why - perhaps the grating does something with the cell structure? |

Funny you should say that. When I'm stressy I get a really itchy scalp and I asked my neighbour last night if she knew of any home remedies for it, as she's really into natural stuff. She gave me a bottle of cider apple vinegar, I diluted 50ml to 150ml of water, rubbed it onto my head, left it for 10 mins then washed out with tea tree shampoo and have to say it really helped. |

Vinegar (or something acidic - preferably not concentrated hydrochloric acid) on wasp stings
Alkalis on bee stings (bicarb solution or dissolving Rennie would probably work!)
And wee on jelly fish stings (or vinegar)! |

"(Addendum to my last post, two of those are things older relatives swore by but which are actually old wives' tales and not true)"
Well the bee and wasp sting ones were true, that's just chemistry.
As for jellyfish stings they do not recommend peeing on it anymore, it was probably the heat of the urine that helped break down the enzyme rather than the urine itself. |

It felt soothing too though, so I don't care how or why it works as long as it works lol. I use too many different shampoos and conditioners and stuff as it is, nice to use something natural. |

No, the bee and wasp stings ones aren't true. It's a myth. Bee stings contain acid but the pain is caused by a mixture of chemicals. |

Formic acid, the best treatment is bicarb. With jelly fish stings its the ammonia in urine that helps neutralize the sting.
Apple cider vinegar is also a well known home remedy for genital warts... |

Porridge oats bath for eczema.
My sin suffers from it badly.
Put 1 cup of oats in an old stocking or foot of a pair of tights, tie up and hang under the running water.
Really good as a wash cloth too leaves skin silky. |

Vinegar is great for cleaning windows.
And white vinegar works as a fabric softener in the washing machine, it doesn't smell vinegary when it comes out. You can put some essential oils in with it to scent the washing. |

Yes but it's the sting that induces the anti inflam.
Heard the oats one too. Juice uses refined organic coconut oil on her sons eczema too which helps. |
