Does anyone know where it would be possible to get a professional chef knife set from? I've looked in Russels but trying to see if i can get them cheeper lol.

£130 for a set of 12 at the min .

Don't know if they still have them at this price but housing units had a set of 6 sabatier knifes for £60 a couple of months back

That all depends what Sabatier they are, they're not all created equally. Anyone can make a knife and brand it a Sabatier.

Nisbets is were us chefs get our knives it is a catering supplier on line you can order them off there

I collected my knives through the years, starting with a 6in cooks knife 24 years ago, and added knives for different purposes as my cooking became more skilled and adventurous. Only two are of the same brand.

Try Nisbets the catering supplier for budget sets. However it is true with all things, quality comes at a price.

My 6in cooks knife is still going strong after all this year, and it cost nearly 50 GBP back in1989.

I take it the knife set is to equip the OP for a new job or vocational training?

If that is the case, perhaps it would not be a good idea to spend too much on them until you are certain the job/career is right for you.

Started college last wednesday, im doing Professional Cookery Diploma Level 3. Plus landed a top Chefing job in croyde! .

Thats very reasonable for a quality set of knives.You pay for what you get.

You could always go to poundland...you can get a set of six in there

Yeah I'm back lol.

Ive got my knives now. £45 for a cheap set. Had a think to myself and I can always build as I go . Got the main ones like fillet knife, chefs knife and others lol

Yeah ive always wanted to cook. I love it . Planning a suprise for the girlfriend on her birthday
