I still help out an ex gf, and chat now and then to another.

However the ex wife and i have never spoken since the final papers came through.

Yes it is if it ran its course and fizzled out. If it ended because somebody wanted a more then it becomes more difficult.

So friend with benefit becomes no friend no benefit..

Why not just keep the friendship you had, no sex

Technically no problem at all would solely depend on circumstances

It depends why the person becomes an ex in the first place, IMHO.

In my case yes, the fact she was due 25 to 30 grand in heritance had nothing to do with it.

yes I think it is... It should only be the sex side that stops... I was best friends with my ex till he sadly passed away... And still chat to ex play partners...

I think it would depend on why you stopped being fuck buddies, if its because one of you got into a relationship the new person may not want there new partner being friends with someone's they used to shag, some situations could be difficult

I'm friends with 3 of my ex girlfriends, but it all depends on the relationship and why it ended. With those 3 we never really fell out or anything, it just wasn't working out.

Mostly because I make a far better friend than a boyfriend to be honest.

I don't see any reason why not. The only reason I didn't stay friends with one of mine was that he got a severe case of the green eyed monster when I got with Vince.

Yes it is possible! But it all depends I guess why it ended! I have an ex boyfriend, it was a highly emotional relationship and we went through a lot together, but he was a shit boyfriend lol! We ended nearly 2 years ago, but he remains my friend, if he doesn't hear from me in over 10 days then he picks up the phone and calls me to make sure I'm ok! We both have our own lives and he is happy with a girlfriend now, but we keep in touch and we are genuinely friends!

I've remained friends with playmates. Get on great guns with my ex-husband. Only one ex-boyfriend I wouldn't want to meet again: played me big time!

I think it can be hard to remain friends with any sort of ex unless there is a good reason (like a child) there tends to be a reason that they are an ex.

I also find that a lot of people aren't actually real friends in the first place so there isn't a friendship to fall back on at the end.

It's also not often that it is a mutual decision for something to end so one party tends to be left with 'feelings' and false hope.

In rare cases sure but I think it is the exception rather than the rule.
