It's probably too far but Utopia Spa in Kent is lovely. The best beds I have ever slept in and the best hot stone massage I have ever had.
I need to get myself back there. But with a playmate this time.

I have been promised a weekend at Hanbury Manor in Hertfordshire,my OH was working there recently and he says its gorgeous,friends of ours have been too and want to go again so thats always a good thing
Im sure there must be somewhere closer to you,so you can make the most of the spa and the pampering instead of having to spend so much time on travelling |

I'm in and / or passing through London regularly with work... and I'm connecting there on a Friday morning in a couple of weeks... so that was why I thought of doing it then....and anywhere would be a possibility |

The Village Hotel in Swansea is really nice. Distance maybe a problem, but you did say "don't really mind where within the uk". |
